Just had another bunny have babies, and another one just pulled fur! OOOH, lots of lovely rabbits for the freezer. AND, WE are having "Rabbit Chasseur" for dinner tonight!

One of my Dorking chicks died. So bummed. I now only have 3 pullets and one cockerel. Oh well. I shall enjoy all the new blue babies that hatch.

Totally! Those were some crazy peeps! Thought they were going to hurt or kill themselves when they would freak out and hit stuff like fencing, walls, etc.

I love my calm Faverolles! My babies just got moved to the tractor coop. They are a little crazy at the teenage stage, but soon will be calm and sweet!

I loved that little splash I got from you! She was so lovely! Crazy flighty, but very pretty. Darn bobcat!

Unfortunately...those were CPartist peeps~Cheryl & I went in on that~~~ooooops !

Aren't they wonderful! We have a domestic bun gone feral. She escaped a few months ago, and we were sure she would get eaten by a predator. But no, she comes out every morning and evening and delights us with her antics (particularly by freaking out the hound!).

I'm e that I've got proven fertile eggs for TC; when I hadn't seen anything hatched yesterday evening I was freaking out a little.

I'm going to put the two bearded silver EEs in with Dave and Bluebelle this week and will have many more blue/green layers to hatch later on. The EEs are the ones I hatched in October of 2011 that started laying in March of 2012(at about 22 weeks), in my hall bathroom. The chicken calculator says Splash over Silver equals blue, but I suspect there's going to be some red leakage on the males. I hope so, anyway since sexing EEs is tough otherwise.

I've wasted time I should be sorting socks trying to get a picture of the new kids, but Malvina Is Not Amused. There are at least five (two blue, three splash) I think but I've never seen more than three at once.

Maybe it's just me but two of my girls really put the cuckoo in cuckoo maran! Serious nerd birds!

Cuckoo Marans are named for their color...IE: as a Cuckoo BIRD, not because they are stoooooopid, so if you have some 'crazies' maybe it was the breeder ?maybe
the weather ?
But certainly not the color.

I have this cute wild rabbit that like to come hang with the chickens when they are out an about. He/she also like running around and around my tractor coop. It's so dang cute! I will have to get some pictures of it.
