Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I have heated waterers, but this year I switched to buckets with nipples in the bottom. So I am going to try fish tank heaters in the buckets. But I am not sure if the nipple itself will freeze or not. So this year is up in the air. But I have the heated ones to fall back on if needed.

The nipples I use froze a few times last winter, and eventually started dripping/leaking after a 2 or 3 freeze-thaw cycles. Replacing the o-rings solved that easily. Mine are installed on pvc pipe, so I wondering if being in direct contact with warmer water will keep them from freezing. Clarkston has much colder winters that W. Wash. so may require something more.

HAVE ANY OF YOU SEEN THIS ON THE NEWS? Well when I saw the first clip on the news I told DW Hey that's that place down the road. Then they released the address YUP Down there where the "less than Desireables" live. What a shame he didn't wander down this way I would have gladly given him some help with his problem!

I saw it & wondered if they were up your way...heck there ain't much up there.
Poor puppy !!!!

I have 5-6 2 year old potted Wallflowers, if anyone is interested.
Get bigger every year and have spring to deep winter purple blooms.

Getting scraggly & needs to be put in the ground as soon as the house is done...this is Momma plant & is 3 years old.

Bees love this bush.

You want/need more plants? I have stuff to share -- some dahlia tubers and another plant whose name eludes me, but they look like lavender bottle brushes and are used by florists, they bloom in early summer, grow from bulb/croms. Are you going to the show in Chehalis? Can also share some crocosmia (lucifer).
I'm always on the hunt for plants. I have no idea what crocosmia is but I'm fairly certain that I know what dahlias are. I'm from Georgia and I've yet to master gardening in this part of the planet! My husband and I decided that we'd rather take homeless plants of a wide variety than try to plan something out here since we have so much space that's pretty much a blank canvas - except for my roses that I've hauled all over the country. My great uncle bred roses in his retirement and I seem to have gotten that gene.

I don't know anything about a show in Chehalis so I hadn't planned on going but I can. When is it?

I just posted this on the thread for the WFF Show in Chehalis, but I wanted to repeat it here on the Washington thread....

I'm going to the Chehalis show just to look and chat. I hope to put faces with more of the names I see online. CR, Cloverleaf, and TotalColour are the only folks I've met in person. Would it be possible to schedule a "coffee break" or "tailgate get together" for all the BYC folks to gather and say "hello"?
I read that the coop out is Sunday Morning, so does that mean that most of the activity is Saturday afternoon?

Majombaszo: A link for the show is here:

It's Nov. 17-18.
I went to a larger show last year and had a really fun time even though I don't show. It's very educational to watch and listen during the judging. I saw breeds I didn't even know existed. And there were things for sale including CR's iron art, eggs, and live birds. Others can tell you more about the WWF show specifically.
