Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Nice to meet you too!! I've been looking around as well as to where to find some. I would love to get them local but if I can't find any, I'll have to get them shipped from somewhere. It's exciting!

So I've discovered Autumn Farms which I believe is here in WA. I'm in the same boat as you--I'll drive to get some quality, well-bred birds. I was poking around on Fancy Chick last night. My dream would be a couple Lavenders and a couple Jubilee. Okay and maybe some Blues. Ok, who am I kidding I want Chocolates too! But I digress! lol

Nice that you have found some possible contacts! I'm with you though the colors. I was going to go with Buff but there are so many different types so now I'm not sure what to get. I would like at least one Buff because I love the golden color they get. And the Lavender...and the Jubilee, and Blue, oh, and a Black one!

I've always wanted some of every color! I never thought I'd be too interested in the chocolates though because it's just "brown", boy was I wrong! I'm amazed at the "richness" and how perfect the chocolate color is on those birds! Nothing like any other brown chicken I've ever had. Not a hint of red, just deep chocolate.

Hi!

I'm new here and new to chickens...or will soon be new to chickens. I'm in Kitsap County in the Bremerton area. I have a coop ready and am waiting for a contractor to give me a quote on a run for my yard. I'm slowly piecing everything together so I'll be ready for some chickens! I'm leaning toward the Orpingtons just because, from my research, they make a really good 'pet' flock and that's my main interest. Maaaybe try showing at some point.

I do hope to buy local and am willing to drive a little ways to get them! Well, when I'm ready for them.

Welcome to the thread!

My Spangles and chocolates have come from Autumn Farms. I can't say enough good things about their birds or their business.

Cool! They don't seem to have a website but did see them on this one so that may be the way to contact them. Autumn Farms seems to be the way to go!!

They used to have a website but I'm not sure what happened. I know they sell eggs on Ebay and Rarebreed Auctions. They can also be found under the user name "Kidcody" on here. I've never found a more helpful breeder.

That is good to know! I'll keep an eye out for them when I'm ready to get some. And now you just made me interested in the Chocolate ones. I was only going to get three but for some reason, I see that number growing.
