Nah. The collars dont really work. Louie came to me because of that. Im out in the country away from close neighbors and I can only hear them if the tv is off. The ameraucana roosters have some sort of 2am and all is well checkup from their different pens. Usually 3 crows each then done. And Duke is such a sweat heart that I'd forgive him even if he did wake me.

It's neat that you have such a bond with your roo.

So sorry, but it happens sometimes. The little peepers develop so quickly that they sometimes have defects and don't make it. Fly free over the rainbow bridge little one.

Thank you @ochochicas I know they all can't but I'll miss her a little anyway. I buried her under our giant pine tree and now I'm going to give mama some love. I just feel bad that she worked so hard and has no babies. She can try again in the spring though.

Oh no! I'm sorry!

The 5th one came out sometime in the night and this morning after 30+ hours with no change from the 2nd one, I finally helped peeled away some of the shell... The shell was pretty hard, and I realized this chick would have never been able to come out without any help. It's drying up but all 5 seem fine.

You could always buy a couple of day old chicks to stick under her. I actually have a few now but I'm sure I'm too far away from you.
