Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Quote:
There's a woman near Olympia (McCleary I think) that I'd check out, Gina Nelson. I only know her from facebook so take a look over there on the group named Western Washington Poultry. But mostly you're going to find breeders as opposed to hatcheries. The breed will determine who we'd recommend. Right now the selections are slim as not too many people are hatching.

No way! We got an inch of rain just over night. Here's a picture from our creek (it flows into the Nooksack River), I think this tree is toast!
We had 3 1/3 " from Monday midnight to Tuesday midnight.....................

And king tides, at 11 AM today...flooding is widespread but so far, no homes are harmed except alot of flooded basements.
Winds were 30-60 mph...kick butt ! Like a fire hose spraying the windows !
Never lost power & eveything is ok here.
Chicken pens are MUD though...that snot-slick super fine clay mud...

I won't complain, though !
And this is still preferred to the wild fires !!!

Local humane society has two hens up for adoption:

Henifer Aniston
Feather Locklear

LOL

So, I accidentally stopped by just to look at these two on my way home from work - Henny and Feather came home with me. Feather is a bantam of some kind (I don't know bantam breeds) and Henny is a mature golden laced wyandotte. They are pretty mellow and don't mind being handled, and are very attached to each other, and we'll see what they are like once they settle a bit. Oops - wasn't what I had planned to do today, but had been thinking of getting another hen since losing Lola to a prolapse last month :)

Wow! That's so sweet! I'm glad I mentioned them. Post a picture of them when you get a chance!
