Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Are there any duck swap meets in Yakima Wash. ? I love to see the Khake Campbell and Indian Runner.
Or are they just seen at the County Fair. I am just in to the egg laying . I have one of each and would consider
getting more of that kind in the future.

Here's the final update until it's done. Hopefully by the end of today. I still haven't decided whether to put the little ones in first for them to get used to it or to put them all in together with the little mini coop and run for the little ones.

And I didn't even know they made these. I thought it was a slick little gadget.

Mower battery is dead and she the older mower isn't running so great been weedeating like crazy need to eat and rest a bit
heart starts beating to fast when it is warm doing anything I have pretty bad tachycardia peanut
butter sandwich time let is slow down. Pullets are growing like weeds and hens are being great with them
but keeping them in line showing who the bosses are.. ah the sun is breaking out from the clouds getting warmer

I got my hired hand over here today & had him trailer up 3-4 loads of compost into the garden boxes, and planted 3 cherry tomato plants inside the hoop frame, covered it & stapled the heavy plastic down, and it is toasty warm inside from the compost.

The 4 San Marzano tomato plants I started will be planted in the green house, they need a longer warmer summer.
The Oregon Spring tomatoes will be planted outdoors probably next week end, they do not care for heat.

I have red cheese pepper started & jalapenos...they will go in the green house, also.

So pretty good work for today...enough work just following the guys around, supervising!

well old girl mower is getting her battery charged I had been weedeating the last few
hours stopping for today Tramadol time. little peeps exploring a bit outside with the sunlight
warm. I switched the heat lamp for a red bulb temp is a bit cooler but still warm enough.
Also set a new roost bar from the brooder pen they love

I don't think they're making a new one now. But maybe. I might have missed something. The above post is just a copy of the very beginning of this thread.

The old thread was deleted when BYC moved over to the new & improved web site you see today.
Years ago, this was a very low-G web site...low as in Gigibytes.
But it had been revamped over and it was a bit hard to get used to it, but some of us survived !

How big are the birds compared to a standard chicken?  Are they closer in size to a bantam or even a serama?  Also got any  pictures of the eggs next to a regular egg?  I have a nephew who is allergic to everything.  I have been thinking of getting some quail for him.

So here's photos for size comparison. They are tiny compared to any chicken.

Actually, now that you mention it (ok, now that I remember how small Seramas are), they're only slightly smaller than some of the ones I saw at the Serama tabletop show. Probably about 2/3's to half the Serama size.
