Quote: Thanks Stumpfarmer. Vitacost.com has cod liver oil at discounted prices if you are interested. I have used this company for years and they are very efficient and reasonable.
I have krill oil so that is what I used to help Betsy recently. It seemed to help her as I think she is fighting a persistent slight sour crop condition? Gurgles a lot in the crop after eating grain and have seen some neck stretching a few times. Do you know of a good treatment for this? Thanks. ~Dee~

Sour crop --- the crop is smushy, that can be an indicator of sour crop. Isolate the bird and check the crop in the morning, It should be empty if things are working correctly. I've had good luck with using a few table spoons of red wine force fed with a syringe. The alcohol in the wine will help kill bacteria, and the acidic nature of the liquid helps to prevent regrowth.
and the bird flies high

Hey for those who enjoy reading books. I met the author and got some signed copies of the book called "Just a Couple of Chickens" the author is CorinneTippett. I have shared these with a couple of people and so far everybody has said it is a very good and entertaining book. If you are one who enjoys books you may want to consider this book or ask Kim, Jeanine (Cloverleaf) or jbear.
I have not read the book. See I started to but ..... well I just can't set still that long and because I can't cross my eyes it is challenging to read the smaller print.

I can't believe how low the snow line got this afternoon - must be about 2700 feet.

Just a week ago we were talking about 3 months of glorious weather! Now it seems like it was never here other than most of my trees still have more leaves than they would normally have at this time of year.

We were flumoxed, coming down Peasely Canyon between the Rhododendron Species Foundation and the Supermall yesterday afternoon: the snow line was where it sits when the ski resorts open!
