Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I think I'll get two of the speckled Sussex, and then one more. Either a leghorn for white eggs or a cockoo Moran for dark brown eggs. I'm leaning towards the Moran because they are harder to find.
if you try to add just one of anything it is best to at least get pairs
at least same age

I will either get two or three total tomorrow. I don't want to try to integrate a single chick. I don't want to try to integrate a single chick. Somebody said the marans from hatcheries, feed stores, don't really laid dark brown eggs. Does anybody have any experience with this?

A woman went to the mortuary to say goodbye to her husband lying in his casket but was concerned about his bald head. She spoke to the mortician and explained that her husband was rather vain and wouldn't like to be seen without his toupee, even in death. "I will take care of it" said the mortician, "just give me a few minutes." She returned later and was pleased to see her husband's toupee very nicely in place." "What do I owe you?" she asked. "Oh, it was no big deal," said the mortician. "But I insist," she said, "I must pay you." "Oh, OK then, just give me a quarter for the nail," he said.

I noticed a bird missing when I got home earlier this week. I checked everywhere but the one. Corner of my coop that I couldn't get my preggo belly. After about 4 days of assuming she was owl bait she was in the run when I got home from my OB appointment! Woohoo, I HATE losing layers, lol.
This time of year they can up & disapear for weeks...LOL and re-appear with chicks in tow !

When are YOU due ??

Moe and Joe worked in a factory making duck decoys for hunters. They hated the first of the month — that's when the bills came in.

Of hatchery sourced Marans, Black Copper lay the darkest. Not going to be as dark as the eggs form show quality lines, though. Cuckoo Marans hatchery birds lay the lightest, most are barely darker than a medium brown.
