Once I stopped looking at their outfits, I saw the chickens. What kind are they? They are beautiful. They look low to the ground. Or is that just camera angle?

And does anyone use the BYC app? I fail at it. I think I'm quoting or uploading pics and I've got nothin'.
Those were pics of Wheaten Sulmtaler hens, with a Silver Wheaten Cock, all 1 1/2 yrs old.

The silver wheaten pullets were hiding...I'll post pics of them soon......they are gorgeous !
yes they are low to the ground, large birds, though...very solid & heavy!
They are a meat bird, originally from the mediterrenean area, as all other white egg layers, and they have migrated north throughout Styria, Germany, etc.

******Pics can be further seen by clicking the Sulmtaler for sale link below:***************

Curios, did you tear the Achilles, or any other tendons in your initial injury ?
So they had to re-attach the tendons ?
If so, that is a seriously painful ordeal !!

In any event, I wish you a speedy recovery...it has been a long time !

I tore the peroneal tendon but thought it was a ligament tear. I kept walking on it and doing physical therapy exercises but that just made it worse. I was told I might need surgery when they did the x-ray in November, 4 months after the injury, but I could not get insurance to approve the MRI until February. That is when I found out the tendon was split (lateral tear) and it would not heal without surgery. I decided to have the heel spur removed and the plantars facia released so I could get both issues fixed at the same time as the tendon repair. The surgeon thought he might also need to release my calf tendon to fix the plantars faciitis but I have lost so much muscle in my calf by being off my feet that he did not do that surgery too. I will do stretching as I heal and strengthen the muscles so hopefully I will have good results from both surgeries.

Amazing how they can repair us now compared to even 15 years ago
How you handling things now?

I thought day one would be the worst so when day 2 was worse I got a bit nervous but the worst is over now. I can feel the stitches and swelling but the pain is manageable. It is the bruising and muscle cramps that are the worst. I am wiggling my toes to help circulation but then the leg muscles cramp up and that has been a little intense at times. I am only taking 1 pain pill instead of 2 but I did take the second pill a couple of times to relax the cramping. I am using ice and elevating the ankle so that helps as long as I can relax into the pain. It is feeling better and I can wiggle my toes without feeling the tendon snap in my ankle so that is encouraging. I have 3 weeks of no weight bearing but once I can walk with the boot I am going to work on strengthening the muscles.
