Good morning! I'm have been looking for signs of molting in the ladies but I don't see anything yet. Is this normal? Just seems really late. They were born in Feb and a mix of Wyandotte, buffs, ameracauna and a red.

They may not molt this year. Molt usually happens in birds over 1 year of age.

Nope. The roosters got all the hens under cover, and the eagles took off when I went outside. If I had not noticed them, though, it would have been a different story.

With all the talk about roos guarding hens I dound a lovely boy!

who had to break the ice from water have the gravity fed to cups in the coop
that line is froze cannot get water through it but have the old icky tank standby
broke ice from on top for them

the long awaited hatch of 12 is now with 7 pipped
went in on 11/10 pipping now
