Our Jack is half GP...great flock guardian, and see how he has the GP fluffy upright ears like your girl ? We clip him several times a year because he just does not shed much & gets matted...once matted the knots are hard to get out..... This is after a recent clipping If he goes unclipped, he gets a mane like a lion, and long feathers behind front legs & shanks of hind legs...he is a bone head !
The male with the red ears seems to have more upright ears than our solid white female but I think it is also because he is very excitable. The owner seems to have a bit of a hard time handling him but that could be because our female was so eager for him. Both times they were tied in just a few minutes because she flagged and he jumped right on her. Crossbreeding is not a bad thing if it is done with purpose. I raised wolves and we had a female Commondore guardian with our sheep that got accidently bred to a male wolf hybrid (one of the few hybrids since we kept ours as close to 100% as allowed). I tried to break the tie but she had pups anyway and my foster mom had to drown them at birth because it was not a good cross. I like the freckles on Jack's nose and I like the long coat on outdoor dogs (the Commondore actually has hair that looks like wool but grows in cords like a mop) so his crossbreeding is not a bad cross. I like to make sure there is a demand for something before I breed so I am not adding to a surplus. Great Pyrenees are beautiful dogs but they need space and a job so they are not the best house dogs. I want to make sure our puppies go to people who want a protector because that is what I will be raising them to do, assuming all goes well.

If there is a shortage of LGDs in the area we could do it again in the future if we keep our female intact but it is a costly investment with no guarantee of the outcome. I definately don't want mixed puppies so my watching her heat was more about preventing pregnancy but hopefully it will work out to have her bred. If she had not already had puppies I would have had her spayed but I would like to raise a puppy to keep with her for constant company. I love working dogs but I think it is hard for them to feel particularly bonded with birds and we no longer have goats or sheep. That may change in the future but for now we have to make due with what we can afford.

I don't know if there is a shortage in your area, but I do know that on the craigslist around here there are always a few ads for those types of dogs.

I am excited just got my first two eggs in a month! The weather that we've having is terrible though. There is basically no dirt available. Everything is covered in deep icy snow. We had another 3 inches yesterday. No end in sight. I want to start hatching!
