I have been doing the deep litter method also works really well. The chickens are fun some more so than others I have 3 groups and all 3 are different but the golden sexlinks are all like lap chickens with them are cockoo Marans and they are just not friendly not mean just not friendly. Another group there are Welsummers, cream Legbars, Olive eggers and black copper Marans they follow me around like dogs.

Mine are golden sexlinks and they are super friendly! Each with a different personality and they are smart! They know just how to work me over for treats! I would like to get a Buff Orpington. They look so sweet and fluffy.

ah nifty may have brooder cleaned of the 7 but looking like maybe have 3 cockerels in that bunch only wanting to raise 2 in the cockerel coop although with them yard and coop would take 4 now

Buff orpingtons are pretty sweet and melow I have 6 of them the one that went broody for 2 weeks in chicken jail was a buff Orpington haven't had any trouble with the rest of them.

I've heard that about them. That is the main reason I didn't get one. Someday though.

Looks like broody hen number 2 will be broke in 4 days that's how long it took her a month ago she hatched chicks last fall now broody twice I think she is a dare I say serial brooder
