So I moved some chickens around to free up a breeding pen for the French Black Copper Marans. I have the five girls in there own pen now do you guys know how long I should have the rooster in there for good fertility? I haven’t put him in with them yet I don’t want him to tear them up as there are only the five hens but want there to be good fertility by the end of the month.

Guess I would suggest to leave him as long at possible like at least two weeks
three even better but if he is beating up the girls get him out

Ok I will put him in there in a couple of days he is not a bad guy I was just concerned because there is only five hens. The other BCM rooster turned out to be a turd he as came at me twice I was not nice last time he did it I will not be using him for breeding. The boy I am going to use has shown zero aggression towards me he is a very good boy.

the sturdier one is the one I intend to keep but will dremel his talons once the grow out

use a cutting head the dremel on high will cauterize as well as cut them off

nice looking birds all of them, none of mine but the silky are small birds
