Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Kinda surprised me BF let me sleep this morning they integrated quite well and where up with the cockerel roosting last night

I got the necropsy results back for Ashes. She had lesions in her lungs, possibly aspiration pneumonia. And she had into enterisis in the intestines. It was nothing contagious. All the other chickens are fine.

Wow did they give any indication cause or when she contracted all this

I believe that would be the worlds toughest bird if she did but too much to ask
and I could not have let one suffer either

My first group of Cornish X hit 8 lbs. today butchered a couple of males they are 4 days shy of 8 weeks they dressed out at 5.5 pounds I think I will wait a little longer just haven’t really layed down much fat yet. Man it’s beautiful out no flys just mud wasp and a few giant mosquitos
So far, I have seen 1 no-see-um...on my forearm, but I am sure a little warmer and we will be infested with them as long as it is warmish & wet. Hate those little biters !
Their bite is worse than a mosquito !

Wow ! Had an epic hatch today !
Actually started yesterday....like 20 out of 26 hatched on shipped eggs !
:wee :wee :wee :wee :wee
Also have set & hatched about 10 Goslings so far.
The Goosie keeps laying & screaming if you get around her nest...but she won't set.
They say this is normal in the first year.

So I hatched some, all I want anyways.
And the goosie keeps laying.
I was gonna take all her eggs and toss them at the dump before they get to stinking....
must be 25 eggs in that nest now !
She lays an egg a day for over 32 days now....
And then suddenly, 2 days ago, she set.
Dang!
We will have so many goslings here !!!!!
:th
