I got the necropsy results back for Ashes. She had lesions in her lungs, possibly aspiration pneumonia. And she had into enterisis in the intestines. It was nothing contagious. All the other chickens are fine.
They said it could come from a sudden change and feed, sudden change of environment, “bad luck “ and her age might have had something to do with it. They really didn’t have any recommendations of prevention or treatment.Wow did they give any indication cause or when she contracted all this
True. My vet said that she was not going to recover from what she had.one instance where the necropsy raised more question than giving answers
So far, I have seen 1 no-see-um...on my forearm, but I am sure a little warmer and we will be infested with them as long as it is warmish & wet. Hate those little biters !My first group of Cornish X hit 8 lbs. today butchered a couple of males they are 4 days shy of 8 weeks they dressed out at 5.5 pounds I think I will wait a little longer just haven’t really layed down much fat yet. Man it’s beautiful out no flys just mud wasp and a few giant mosquitos
