you guys are lucky.so..what do you guys do for your birds in the winter?just curious to see how other people do it in the winter

I have a couple of heated waterers but in the other coups I do use a couple of premier heat lamps, I make sure they are very secure. I bought a couple of there tripod stands that go with the lamps and put waterers under them when it’s really cold. I need to buy a couple more heated waterers though.

I haul water from inside. They get water in rubber bowls. Flip bowl over and stomp the ice out. Refill.

Running an extension cord out to all the chicken pens is not doable here.

See really do not need to haul from the house than heavens that would toast my bread fast still have an open water with the silky so peeps are not big enough for nipples quite yet the silky use em so once they can no big deal

Been out two days going like gang busters great to see the son very secure in holding the bird

I am trying to teach him XD he got scratched real good by one right before he decided to start listening to me. Now they love him though because they know seeing him means free ranging in the backyard and nummies.

BCMs enjoying the sun, then a silver Biel, a black leghorn and a few others flew over their fences to join in...I am not happy with a few of the BCMs tail set...still needs work but love the eggs !

Meanwhile the RIRs were super jealouse...but they have a net over their fence so they were not able to escape to the garden.....this is one gorgeous man chicken here ! he is on a roost just behind a water tank...he sees me & knows I have treats !
