Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Holy cow it’s hot it was 80 at 8:00am this morning 90+ now.
Took the kittens to the vet for there first shots this morning no bloody fingers, I wasn’t sure about the #4 kitten had only picked him up twice but no problems he is coming around the other 3 are lap kittens now. It’s taken 4 weeks to get this far from hissing and spitting wild kittens.

Yesterday almost killed me with the 90°. Got heat stress doing too much, but I recognized the signs so went in to lay down in front of the AC.

My two cats were barn cat kittens. Weren't very friendly at first but now I have a kneading lap cat and a demanding boss who I better pet when he says. They folllow me around when were outside

Okey Dokey.

Took me a bit but I found the Washington State thread! Had chickens as a kid. Thought about it for a year or 2 and finally took the leap this year. I ordered 12 chickens online from Mypetchicken. And here we are, almost 2 months later, with 12 chickens=11 hens and 1 roo, 9 different breeds, a rapidly shrinking "brooder", and a close to finished hen house. (I am still tweaking bits and pieces trying to achieve the elusive "good ventilation but no drafts").

This weekend is hopefully the move-in date for the chicks to the "Big House".

It has definitely been interesting.
