Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hey ya'll, sorry to interrupt any conversation. I'm over on Bainbridge Island and have his rooster who needs a home. I would like to not cull him as he is very sweet. He is a BR and has not started crowing yet. I'm not quite sure how old he is but I'm thinking around 4 months, we got him around 9 weeks ago cause he was sold to us as a pullet, we unfortunately don't have space for anymore roosters. He LOVES apple, (this doesn't have anything to do with anything but it's really cute to see how excited he gets.) He doesn't run to be picked up but he doesn't mind being held. He does amazing with kids and has never shown any signs of being aggressive towards humans nor other chickens.

Most of us have roosters not needing more .. I split my birds in two coops so have two roosters both over a year
I figured... Someone just suggested if I needed to rehome him to try in my state thread, I figured it was worth a shot in case by some unlikely chance someone would want him.

Same here. Wind is pretty bad hear. Gusts are up to 60 mph. Had to put my flock away in their coop earlier than normal since I didn’t want them to be out in this terrible weather. It has slowly gotten windier every hour. My geese didn’t seem to mind though. But decided to put them away as well since I didn’t want them to use a gust of wind to fly away lol! Glad when the wind will be gone.

Maybe try putting an ad in the newspaper? Or putting an ad online on a website for selling various things? You could also try giving him to a sanctuary possibly? Look for “want” ads that could possibly want a rooster. Try looking around for these things and you could email local people who may have a sanctuary, a farm, maybe a neighbor who may want him, a shelter?, or a friend.

People do look at ads in the newspaper and also online. So if you put an ad in both, you can target both the older folks who may not really be as “techy” and also the younger folks. So you can reach all sorts of people if you put an ad in for a rooster for sale.

I know this may not be very helpful. Just some ideas! I really hope you find a home for him. He’s a gorgeous rooster!

I have 5 roosters and mostly just have silkies. No room for a new one.

I was going to replace the half silkie rooster in with the large fowl, but he proved himself to be such a paranoid flock rooster that he gets to stay. He sees every hawk and is the last one in the pen. Has to make sure all the hens get in. Takes care of the chicks as well.

I completely understand! If you have an amazing rooster, there is no need for a new one! Your rooster sounds very sweet!
