I knew a neighbor who once had one dog. That's all he was able to afford to take care of. Dog was happy all the time and the neighbor even let me walk it a few times when I was younger. It was a pitbull mix and lived 'til it was 5.

Well, his dog was hit by a car after she escaped his house during 4th of july that year. The car had been going really fast and the vets couldn't save her.

So sorry to hear that, fourth of July is definitely a hard time for pets.

I'm bad at names. Hubby named our dogs Zeus and Athena. I named the cats Luke and Leia. Mom kept trying to convince me to do Pork and Beans. I think the Star Wars names were better.

Old schipperkes I had were Fox because they look like tailless black foxes, and Fiery because she was always running around and into everything.

We have been thinking of Nala if we choose the girl or maybe Whit for the male, but we will see when we meet them, which one is the friendliest!
Has anybody ever had a single pet?

I've only had one cat at a time, but I'm always home. It's nice for them to have a companion if they will spend a lot of time alone! They are both adorable!
