He is absolutely adorable !!! I hope he finds a good home!Hello everyone. I crossposted this over to the adopting/rehoming thread but I wanted to post it here too.
We're looking for a new forever home for our friendly drake, Booster. We let our female duck have ducklings this last June, with the plan to send some of the ducks to live on my in-laws farm and a couple more spoken for by some friends' kids who do 4-H and like ducks a lot. Unfortunately, river otters broke into the farm duck run and killed most of the ducks that went down there. We took Booster and the other survivor back, but we simply have too many Drakes now and Booster deserves to go to a good home, hopefully with lots of love. We're hoping to send him someplace with shelter where the ducks are kept safe at night, and preferably with some female companionship.
Here, Booster is lowest on the pecking order so the other boys will pick on him and he also doesn't get to mate much since the other girls are spoken for. Booster had a really good friend, Trooper, who unfortunately died when the otters attacked. Really we just want him to go to a home where he'll be loved and where he has some companionship, either another male to buddy up with or some ladies he can try to impress.
Here's a little more about Booster if you think you'd like a boy. I know drakes aren't the highest in demand but they have their fans, and Booster is a big sweetie.

About Me
Breed: Pekin x Buff Orpington mix
Name: Booster got his name because he loves jumping up on things to get a better view!
Alias: Pea Bandit (Booster LOVES to steal peas if you're offering them!)
Likes: LOVES Peas, Mealworms, Tomatoes, and the ladies
Hates: The pecking order. Booster is more likely to be bullied than be a bully himself.
Aggression: 5/10 — booster is not a very aggressive duck but he's young and like to mate. He doesn't get to do it a lot here so he does it "awkward" style and seems sort of clueless on what he's doing, so he keeps trying until he succeeds or goes on time out.
Petting: Booster will let you pet him! Especially if you're offering treats. We don't think it's his favorite thing, but he's very friendly to people.
Health issues: None. We treated him briefly when it looked like he might have started a little bumble but he was a good patient and it cleared up quick.
Skills: Jumping — booster loves to jump up on things to get a better view of his surroundings, and can even climb stairs or steps.
Adopting
We love Booster and are sure you'll love him too. If we didn't already have multiple drakes, we'd love to keep him ourselves. In summary, we'd like to see if Booster could go to a home that:
1) Has a secure shelter at night (especially since he already survived one string of predator encounters!)
2) Other duck friends to get along with. Either another male or some females
and optionally but hopefully
3) Human love. Booster is adorable and watching him gobble peas will bring a smile to your face, so it would be a shame to not give him human love but it is understandable depending on the circumstances.
We're in eastern Washington state, which places us within driving distance of Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. Please reach out if you're interested in giving Booster a good forever home or know someone who might! Booster goes free and will come with a complimentary bag of peas for the two of you to bond over.

That's where Ive always ordered my cartons. I used to go through a lot when I sold eggs. They do have sales occasionally.
Im thinking about ordering some of the bantam cartons for the silkie eggs.
