Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

My large fowl run doesn't get wrapped. It's in the lee of a building and unroofed. They have a large coop (8x15) that stays nicely warm with deep litter on the dirt floor.

The silkies won't stay out of the rain. They like that it slicks their crests back. Wrapping their pens is a must to keep them from standing along the fence.

I need more shavings, but one silkie pen is moslty ready for winter except the new straw.

The straw rotted here so stick to white shavings deep litter but draft not ventilation but air over them can be problem.
The big girls will be in their new coop before snow flies here .. The way the weather is will it still be dry ? I have aquarium heaters for the 5 gallon buckets.. I use the nipples mine have never frozen in 8 years.

Have to agree there, I cannot complain my tomato and all was so late. Have my first green bell pepper on the plant growing, tomato are just getting big enough to really ripen a few.
I keep saying oh we’re so dry we need rain but secretly I’m cheering for my 2 tomato plants still producing, the baby kale that’s popping up all over and summer squash still making squashes. Also Gathering leaves for the compost. They are nice and dry, pack into bags really well.
