I had some visitors today; momma doe with her new fawn! Only one this year. Last spring she had twins.

I caught the little one running away with my camera, with mom calmly following behind.

Last year's twins were trapped in the neighbor's back yard. It's time for them to move on from momma doe anyway. Last year I thought the pair was a doe and a buck, but looks like they are both little bucks.

For some reason my 6 chickens won't eat slugs! And I could use their help for sure.

We have been having a bear hang out in out yard. Looking for fawns.

Today and yesterday the wind has been so bad!

If you've seen a duck struggling to choke one down, you'd understand why they don't.

My chickens don't touch the slugs either. Thankfully the slugs are not so bad this year.

I'm amazed how they can get the slug populous down to around 1/4" in length without them going extinct!
