Sorry Cathy I was a cattle kid too.
Never had lamb either.
Up at 8 here had to let the birds out.
Still wet not actively raining.
Actually I was born in fish country but my mom said she didn’t know how to cook fish so we only had canned tuna and fish sticks! Dad was a meat cutter so we had pieces of whatever…..🤢
 
We ate lots of deer and elk when I grew up. More of necessity as it was cheaper than buying beef. Parents did buy half a beef off my great uncle as well. We'd occasionally get buffalo from that uncle or lamb from another relative. We also fished a lot. So rainbow trout from the Columbia. Occasionally other fish from other family and friends who has boats
 
Just looked out the window and it's raining. My squash plants on the front porch are getting their first taste of sky water. I plan on planting them in the garden later today.

And my chickens visited the neighbor's backyard this morning. After rounding them up I built a fence to maybe prevent that from happening for a while.
