Up at 8 here had to let the birds out.

Today is a light gray, no rain, may be considered sunny of on the west side. At least no wind today... like so far. It has been cold here the last couple days.

It’s kinda medium gray here this morning. After all this rain a little heat would sure be welcome. Or even that light gray…

Actually I was born in fish country but my mom said she didn’t know how to cook fish so we only had canned tuna and fish sticks! Dad was a meat cutter so we had pieces of whatever…..

I took the two EE I hatched 6 months ago both black birds from the banty coop
to the main coop last night.
Both came out with the big girls this morning.

Slugs are nasty! I picked one up first time I saw one, and that slime is nearly impossible to wash off.

Use sand or salt and scrub it off.
That's what we do in Slug Country!

Doing like Ma she put beer out in saucers for slugs too she saw
my dog following to drink it.

We ate lots of deer and elk when I grew up. More of necessity as it was cheaper than buying beef. Parents did buy half a beef off my great uncle as well. We'd occasionally get buffalo from that uncle or lamb from another relative. We also fished a lot. So rainbow trout from the Columbia. Occasionally other fish from other family and friends who has boats

Just looked out the window and it's raining. My squash plants on the front porch are getting their first taste of sky water. I plan on planting them in the garden later today.

And my chickens visited the neighbor's backyard this morning. After rounding them up I built a fence to maybe prevent that from happening for a while.
