Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Hey guys! New member here. :)

My name is Kate - I've kept chickens my entire life and have been referencing these forums for years and finally decided to make an account. I am renting a small farm in eastern WA and finally have my own flock! I am a veterinary student at WSU. New to turkeys but have four poults and a flock of fifteen chickens.

Nice to meet everyone!
Go Cougs! Both my daughter and I are alumni and one of her roommates graduated as a vet from there! Great program and congratulations to you!

So I noticed that the ladies stayed in the shade alot of the day so I got them a sun 🏖️ and they love it!

They aren't spoiled or anything . . .😎

I have a nice new coop here. There are 4 windows 2 1/2 x 3 foot.
3 open. We bought used but cleaned the old sealing and the resealed each one.
They have a really ancient apple tree in the main yard there is always a small breeze through the yard.

In the morning when I go to let the chickens out I usually say good morning before I open the outer gate. This morning I said good morning and they all came running around the corner! Apparently I forgot to lock them up last night! Fortunately the electric fencing was still on duty. Sheesh!

No matter what time I go there I say hi girls they all run to see me...
I only name roosters yes time to time we may eat one.
There have been a few times I did not latch the door open..
Safe all of them I feel like an idiot.
I was just happy all six were there! It’s like they said Hi Grandma we’ve been up since 5!
