It started about 2:30 this afternoon. Power is still out! The rain was coming down in sheets.

Where are you? We have a solar generator, it’s amazing. Like it so much better than gas or diesel.

SW Washington is where I'm at. I have a couple of small gas generators but I know if I pull one out now and start it up the power will come back on. So I'll just wait it out this time. LOL

@Smokerbill I don’t know how to do quotes without inserting the whole thing.
That’s why I like the solar generator. It’s in the living room behind the couch, just plug in cords and off it goes.
Automatically shuts down when electric comes back on. The cost is well worth it, for us.

I’m used to snakes. I had to get used to them when we bought this place 30 years ago. I use snake away and similar products to keep them out of the coop.
One of the things we looked into was being able to fly to Seattle when the pass (or passes) are closed.
We live an hour from Houston. Almost everything we do requires a minimum of a 45 minute drive, so driving to Seattle is something we aren’t concerned about. I don’t mean that to sound rude! We have dreamed about this for so long!!! We are trying to be realistic about what we can afford, and where we will probably need to live.

I drive the 5 hours to see my family a few times a year over the pass. Just not dead of winter because birds need water. Snoqualmie Pass isn't an issue usually. Just watch pass report to not be stuck for hours when they are doing avalanche removal

Do you like the area? We aren’t locked in to moving near Moses Lake. So far that is where we have seen places that fit our criteria. Hubby just looked at place near Bremerton, area nice, house wasn’t.

I'm outside the city (Winlock) far enough that I can shoot guns whenever I want. Lots of deer that ate my garden the first year, now it's fenced.
