Congratulations!!

I have a question for you. Has Ginger had any problems with blood spots in her eggs? The reason I ask is because both of my dark chocolate egg layers seem to have issues with blood spot in their eggs. I have both a Blue, and Black Copper hens that lay dark eggs. The Blue has always had blood spots in her eggs. This maybe her last year with my flock over this issue. I really love her, but the space is very limited in my flock, so......

Nope, no issues. But she's an EE if that makes any difference. I ussed to have an BCM, she didn't have any problems with it either.

omg, I could totally see this!

Even though I was born over on the dry side of NE Oregon, some of those commercials just remind me of when I was growing up. Socks and sandals? Done that. Playing at the beach in the rain. Done that because parents could only afford rates in early spring. So we went to Lincoln City in early March. Playing in the ocean and rain in a swim suit while there are people walking along the shore bundled up against a blizzard.

Thanks again! It's a keeper!
I was surprised how little half & half I needed to add, so maybe cream next time!

To whomever asked about blood spots in dark eggs: The Marans I got a couple months ago has this issue. I don't mind it, but I'm also not selling her eggs or antyhign. But yeah, her super dark chocolate eggs *always* have small blood spots in them. it's weird, oh well.

'Hello Kitty' chick got her little feets soaked in olive oil and the band-aid orthopedic boots slipped off without pulling. The toes are alligned perfectly. And in less than 24 hours! She is looking and acting like a normal chick. She was picking at her own toes for a few minutes like she didn't recognize them. When she nipped her self a little too hard she stopped.

Wow! I would never have thought of such a thing!!! And it worked so WELL!!! Way to Go!!!

And thank you for sharing the pictures, just words would never have conveyed what you did.

(Did a quick round of chores this morning and took off north for an IKEA run, then went to Shipwreck for the first time this year. Merry Christmas Shopping!)
