I will do that for sure. Especially since I need to get through 360lbs of Nutrena before I can start buying Purina for good. The only reason I bought the Nutrena was because it was on sale at both Reber AND Bothell last week. So, currently have to get through 3 bags of unfrozen Purina, then 360lbs of Nutrena. Taking into account my dozen girls eats about 20-25lbs a week, that should last 19 weeks. Oi!

Dang, that is a lot of feed they eat. Mine only go through a 25lb bag every 2 weeks. 10 chickens and 1 chick eating that. I guess them free ranging almost all day long helps keep my costs down.

Bleh. Mine are HUGE porkers! Even when they're out all day long, I always see them going back to the run for snacks at the feeder all day. It surprises me too! Stinkers. They poop more than I ever ever expected too!

Mine usually only eat feed in the morning before they get let out, before and after an egg, and right before bed time. Of course Pig Pen goes in more often to get the feed and so do the teens. I know once the Silkies are bigger I will prolly have to get 50lbs every 2 weeks. And then more as I hatch out more from broodies.

Watching some news coverage while the kids play in their rooms and get jammies on. I'm just so sad today. I can't stop crying for the families of the children who won't come home tonight. Those ruffled beds whose occupant tried to make it herself, the half empty cereal bowls on the kitchen table from a rush to get to school with little ones. The toothbrush that won't be used again. Gah. I simply can't imagine my babies not coming home.

I know, it makes me sick to my stomach when I think about it. I just want to cry!

No problem. Saterday, the commemt I got was not directly not likeing the fact that I was carrying. A man was speaking to some ladies behind me, about spending $800 on a guinea pig of his Dd's that was ill and it died anyways. I simply turned with a smile and said he was a better paremt than I. A woman he was talking to, whipped around and snapped at me saying, ”Yeah, you would just shhot the helpless thing.” Just a load of snoty attitude, and she reached twards and tried touching my gun, but my hand had made it thete before her out of reaction.
What?!!! How... why... what in the bloody hell was she ....

I cannot even imagine what thought process suggested that action. For that matter, someone reaching for me or my person regardless of my carry status would make me fall into defense mode... she reached for your gun... I just can't even.... Did you say anything to her about the stupidest motion any idiot could make?

Not to even start mentioning how rude it is to just attack a stranger....

(shakes head violently)

So you practice open carry then? Have you found yourself stopped and "chatted with" by LEOs? I'm not ballsy enough to open carry, I really just want to get my stuff done and not deal with any unexpected speedbumps. CCW though? Very likely. Very.

Now I wouldn't have shot the guinea pig... but i wouldn't have paid $800 either. The sleepy purple liquid at the vet is just fine and is probably less than $50. Kid's guinea pig is probably worth that or a bit more. But then, I do not have nor will ever have kids so ignore me on that subject. LOL

---> edited out with strikeout the question that was already answered, but I hadn't seen it yet when i replied.

Has anyone seen a dramatic difference by changing feed (meaning, an overnight sudden change) in egg laying? Sunday I changed feed and we had been getting 3-4 eggs a day for a while; it was a bummer. My little girls started laying this week; that would bring us up to 5-6 eggs a day just from them, but we're suddenly getting 7-8 eggs a day after changing feed. We had been using Nutrena (and still have 9 bags of it in the deep freezer!!!) and I wanted to use up the 3 bags of Purina that aren't in the freezer. WDYT? Fluke? Or should we use Purina from now on, after we get through the darned excess of Nutrena we have? I have no preference really, I was originally trying to do what was best for our overall health and go organic, non-GMO, soy free, etc, but now I know that route wasn't what was best for MY flock.
We had the opposite happen with our Coturnix. Switched them with the chickens to Layer and all Quail egg laying ceased within 24 hours. Then they started rapidly losing weight, then we found 2 dead and very skinny by 3rd full day of new feed. So we switched back and they are laying again and happy. We will never change the quail's food again. Spouse is still upset about losing one of her "favorite roos!"... personally I can't tell 1 quail apart from any others. This is surely one reason the quail adore Spouse and barely even acknowledge me.

Thank you, I do rock! I rock even more at the range. We practice as often as we can. That is one of the reasons why we want to move out of city limits. To wake up and say hhmmm I feel like target practice today, think I'll go outside and shoot.
One of the beauties of living where I do. problem I am limited to about 400 of range. But I can step out the back door and shoot clear to the back of the property.
