Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I've been keeping eggs loose in a plastic box in the fridge- I have to reorganize everything to be able to stack cartons again- but the box was full when I wnt to put an egg in this morning, so I moved everything to cartons: eleven eggs in eight days! After no eggs for six weeks, that's grand!

On a chicken-related note, Pengin has started laying. She didn't even start with a small egg. Just a long egg.

The long ones always make me laugh... I love them.

Yippee!!! Eggs!!! Love It!!! Time for a soufle!
I finally have all 3 girls laying, but the EE's are kinda small after her molt and not frequent. But I'm happy too.

I have enough eggs to take a couple dozen down to Mom. I'm taking all the silkie eggs as well and will probably use them up making a cheese cake for christmas. Leave the big eggs for Mom and Dad to just eat.

Been busy cleaning today. Two loads of laundry and caught up on the dishes. Dogs have flea treatment on them so they don't pick up anything at the kennel. I had to run down to Big J's in Orting this morning. They had an early bird sale on carhartt short sleeve shirts. I couldn't afford to not go with the price. Should have enough shirts for DH for a long while now. Have a vet appointment for the kittens this afternoon. Need to stop and get some straw or shavings for the birds.

I'm laundry-ing and working on Christmas presents for my knitting friends, making stitch markers to use up my dust-collecting facetted beads. Oh, yeah, and I need to melt down some dead candles to make scented wax filler for some Christmas presents which will be infinitely easier and less boring to photograph when I finish them.

One point I overlooked in my earlier post. The med I was taking wasn't for anything related to depression. It was for a sleep disorder. Also since it happened gradually over such a long time it made it hard for me and others to really figure out what was going on. I have a Dr. appointment tomorrow to look into other med options. Right now at one week I am feeling so much better in so many ways.

I hope this information can be helpful to somebody. I also want to thank all of you for your support and friendship.

There's a thin piece of twine tying it to a tree in their yard. I think I need to go talk to them again - or somehow convince DH to... I don't think that twine is going to hold much longer. Hopefully we can, at the very least, convince them to tie it up with a thicker rope. Since it is their fence and their tree, they have to be involved in the process.

Nothing wrong with depression, but sleep disorders are the worst, I think.

Well I just finished hanging the feeder in the coop, and putting a waterer in there. I have to figure out a better way though because a small part of the feeder is hanging where it could get pooped on if the girls roost too close. I need some sort of cover to keep it completely sheltered from falling roost poop. The waterer is right inside the door on a concrete block and will be MUCH easier to take inside to wash and fill now that I don't have to go in the run to get it. I'm so happy with the small modifications we've been making!

Renee - sorry about the fence. Those neighbors sure don't know the meaning of "neighborly" huh?

They're nice neighbors. I'm not sure what the deal with the fence is. But every time I've talked to them about it, they've brought up a conversation of where the wood came from. I wonder if the fence has some sort of sentimental value to them, I'm not sure. DH doesn't know either, even though he's been their neighbor most of his life, and grew up with their kids.

I guess I can't say too much - because we have a broken section to our fence, to, but at least what we have standing is in an upright position and not at risk of falling on our girls.
