Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Thanks Travis; I'm still feeling the effects of it in my head (cough and sinus stuff...maybe that's something different though?) and William seems much better already! I love how resilient kids are; I had it for over 56 miseralbe hours and he was feeling bad for 8 hours. LOL I'm sure he's not done with it, but for now he' swatching videos on my bed happy as a clam. He came out with me to get some fresh air and do chicken chores, and when he got cold he told me and I took him inside pronto. I'm so happy to have kids who weather illness fairly easily, even when it's miserable. When John was barfing a couple days ago, he just took it in stride, never cried or fussed or complained at all! Good boy :)

A Complete List of Seed Companies Owned by Monsanto – And – A Complete List of Seed Companies Not Owned by Monsanto.

When you purchase seeds be aware of their source, expecting Non GMO seeds and getting Gm seeds would not be beneficial. Listed here is a list of companies that Evil Monsanto owns to profit off of so-called organic Non GMO seeds.

As of 2005, Monsanto owns Seminis. It is estimated that Seminis controls 40 percent of the U.S. vegetable seed market and 20 percent of the world market—supplying the genetics for 55 percent of the lettuce on U.S. supermarket shelves, 75 percent of the tomatoes, and 85 percent of the peppers, with strong holdings in beans, cucumbers, squash, melons, broccoli, cabbage, spinach and peas. The company’s biggest revenue source comes from tomato and peppers seeds, followed by cucumbers and beans.

I let my girls out for the first time today for just a short time. The weather was cold but dry.

Although Camran was a little busy in the coop most the time the other girls started to explore.

And for some close ups

I survived this first outing with no issues. I'll have to desensitize myself to letting them out for a bit. I worry about if the neighbor's dog gets out. I worry also that I've got to get my own pup

This pic was taken a couple months ago of her but she was visiting my parents.

So, hopefully I'll be able to let them out each weekend and then when the days are longer afterwork.

I'll have to get a chicken Xing sign.

How nice is he? I have one and my hubby wants him in a stew pot. I won't do it I need him, oh who's stock is he from.

Are you asking about the buff Silkie? He is VERY nice. I believe he was born in June. FlyRobinFly hatched him in early summer from Catdance eggs. She wanted to only keep the blues, so I offered

to take the porcelain and buff off her hands as they were pretty bonded as chicks. When I go out to feed them in the morning and give them a little scratch he's the first to come greet me now and lets me give him a little scritch. I'm pretty fond of him but as much as I ask him to NOT crow, he refuses to cooperate. Not good form for a city chicken.

So, the good chicken news today is that I got two eggs from the elder Hamburgs! Terre and Suzzy from the shapes and tints: Maggie lays the smallest, roundest, whitest egg, Terre the largest, darkest (about the color of Jersey cream) and Suzzy a medium cream egg with a sharp point.

Everything is beautiful and healthy and growing out shiny new full feathers, and I expect that I'll be transitioning to too many eggs before the end of January.

.

It's easy to do, unless you follow small-town NWRCA rodeos or small town politics. It's between Yelm and Tenino, or, to look at it in the most obscure possible way, between Vail Tree Farm and Weir Creek Training Area.
I had no idea there was an NWRCA Rodeo in Rainier. I do know there is an NPRA Rodeo in Roy. We have participated there several times! Nice place but don't order biscuit and gravy at the Saloon.

It was so nasty even my dog wouldn't eat it and he wasn't a picky eater.
