Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

I will probably be at Bothell feed center just before 11, I will have Jazz my Great Dane and Ratchet the small black puppy. I may have 2 or 3 kids with me. More than likely my two DDs and maybe our youngest DS.

I now have the first chick of this hatch. It is a BCM from ultasol. But it wasn't with out some nail biting !!!! See it zipped last eve. This morning when I went to look it acted to be getting less active and it seemed to be almost shrink wrapped.

While I DID NOT OPEN the incubator. I got creative and got the very tough dried membrane torn a bit more and POP goes the chick. Ian not going to tell how I did this. I will say that maybe I missed a calling as an Arthroscopic surgeon!!!!

#2 Sheryl Butler silkie egg just hatched on her own as well. What a nice little vaulted skull and the most silk on a Silkie head and neck I've ever seen! Very nice chicks. I'm impressed so far. Four more pipped and one nearly zipped. Haven't opened the incubator in four days.

Wow... Chick Hatch Central! Congrats all you lucky people! Thanks for sharing the pictures!
CR... you'll have to invent a "port" for incubators so others can do the orthoscopic thing. Sounds like a great idea.

No pictures but if you live close by might be worth it to go see........................

Used chicken wire fencing. We had to destroy a chicken run in order to remove, but wood and wire mesh/fencing is in good shape and could be put to use to help shore up yard to contain chickens. Also, coup door is there and in good repair. All are on curb out side of our house on N 62nd stree a few houses south of Corliss. Please feel free to help yourself to pieces that will work for you. Thanks.

Congrats to all the folks with hatching chicks and new eggs. I'm in molt central and getting one egg every other day or so from my six layers.
