Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

These are good. I use them. I use spybot ( http://www.safer-networking.org/ ) as well.

I have AVG ( http://www.avg.com ) for my antivirus. It's free if you don't have one.

And remember, if you already have antivirus software loaded on your machine (like McAphee or Norton or any other), remove them before adding a new one!!! Antivirus software does NOT play nice together!!! Also, if you are removing McAphee, using uninstall isn't enough. You have to go online and get a special tool to get rid of the debris it leaves behind. Find it at MajorGeeks. This issue has been causing people major headaches for years!!!

There are several good Free antivirus programs available. AVG has a good reputation as does Avira (which I use).

DeesHens: Sorry to hear your hard drive is having problems, but on the flip side I'm REALLY glad to hear you're doing backups!!! So many people never do and they lose so much when the bad happens. We have a portable hard drive that we use for backup. If the main computer goes south all we have to do is plug it into another one and we're ready to go. Actually... I have two... I keep one off-site in case there's a real disaster like a fire or theft. Is my geek background showing yet?

I'm really loving all the updates on the hatching and the funny stories. I'd love to have seen the little hopping egg shell! And the little boy holding all 4 silkies... sooo cute!

Thanks for sharing!

Cannon Beach is lovely! Sounds like you are having a nice vacation. There are some cool little shops in the town center.

A friend of mine had a house built there for her retirement and I helped her move her gecko army to their new home. I stayed the night and missed the sunrise, but thankfully also missed the herd of elk that spent a while in her yard!  I have no interest in being trampled or gored. There was elk poop all over the place. Must make gardening quite the challenge.

Oh, I love Cannon Beach and it's been way too long since I've been!

I'm sorry. I know it will be difficult to see them go. After the holidays I can probably come help you make changes to the coop. Sorry I can't before - things are just crazy this time of year. My mom is coming up from Oregon to stay with us, and since she is nearly 80-years-young, I want to make sure this is fabulous Christmas for her.

Can someone read this post and look at the pics of my araucana here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...s-differently-than-other-breeds#post_10051790 and tell me what you think...

she eats, drinks, walks, poops fine. She's really timid and her neck gets the most crooked when I first pick her up. When she calms down and I straighten her neck, she can hold it fine. I let her out of the pen today and let her walk around the garage for an hour. she didn't poop once, which seems odd to me. I worry too much. She is doing a little bit of head shaking.

I have no idea. It does look a little odd - maybe it's just the angle of the camera? Hopefully someone here can help you.
