Man I was 700 behind so I just skipped to the end, wow.

Stumpfarmer; my wife was diabetic and her sugar would swing with stress but especially with an infection anywhere in the body. I am also diab but it's controlled with oral meds and diet. (which I don't follow all that good and forget to take the meds from time to time and pay for it)

Everything here is OK or so I think. The girls are still laying but go on strike from time to time. Did get 15 eggs from them the last 3 days.

Dang furnace went out last nite at about 11pm. Local co. Americool here in Rochester, came out and I was warm and toasty by 1 am. Worth every penny of the 134.00 buckeroos.

Been busy with the electric guitar (finally fixed my tube amp) and got me a new practice solid state amp. Nah, ain't rocking nothing but the rocking chair., but dang it's fun to make noise.

My girls keep screaming at me when I go outside. They're acting like they haven't been let out of their pen in days, but they're being drama queens. I might have to bundle up and let them out so that they'll leave me alone. Bunch of brats...then they get annoyed when I pick them up to hug them. That's the price you pay for harassing me so much, is cuddles and love!

Finally caught up again, whew! Welcome new folks and as JB said, hugs to all my existing friends and hope everyone is well.

On the subject of firearms, it is probably a good thing I don't own one. We had a peeper reported watching a woman through binoculars in our neighborhood yesterday and I commented that he better not show up at our house. DH asked if I would set the dogs after him, and I said the creep would be lucky if they reached him first! I don't have much patience for stuff like that.

It was snowing this morning when I left for work but it didn't appear to be sticking. The freezing level was around 1500 feet earlier, I hope it doesn't get cold enough for accumulation...

Snowing and sticking here - we are at 1000'. The kids have been going out periodically and pulling the ice out of the chicken waterers and throwing the disks like frisbees.

It is quite beautiful - large fluffy flakes swirling like a snow-globe, and everything is coated in about 2 -3 inches of snow.

I need to find homes for 1 or 2 banks of cages. I hate to part with them. These were old cages from my veterinary hospital, then I paid a welder to weld a metal bar in front so that I could attach water bottles and food bowls. I intended them for my seramas and for birds that needed to be in isolation after shows. However, we keep fighting a rat problem and my husband is convinced that the problem is that they are nesting under the cages since there is only a dirt floor in our barn. They are big, and HEAVY. 3 muscular guys carried them here originally. They have 3 kennels for small dogs on top, 2 for large dogs on the bottom. Standard veterinary issue. I would let my BYC buds have one bank or maybe even both (sigh) for free. You will need a truck or trailer and MUSCLE. PM me. They are dirty- as I have done nothing with them for a year.
I an interested. Do you have approx. Size measurements.

You actually have a functional tube type amp?? How cool.

Dear friends,
Would you please refrain from posting pro/con statements about guns and gun control? It is a most divisive issue, and this site is not established for that sort of exchange. There are other appropriate sites for such discussions, and this is definitely not one. Sometimes we all need to apply some common sense and moderation. Thank you.

This afternoon when I got up, I looked out the back door to check on the chickens like I always do. I suddenly see the little chick run away from momma who is along the back fence line. Then a freaking coyote appears. I could not get a shot from the door, the tractor was in the way. I went out and tried to get a leaning shot but just as I had line of sight, it ducked back and went off. I assume it is up the hill harassing the neighbors chickens and dogs(they are barking like crazy). So I have been outside in the cold a lot today. My dog caught scent of it and re-marked the back fence line. Not sure if the yote would come into the yard because of the dog. But it obviously will come up to the fence.

It's been snowing out here too. I took some treats to the girls and told them that today is not a good day to forage and they just screamed at me even louder than before.
