Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Good morning everyone? Where the heck are you all?

That hasn't been mentioned. I want to set another clutch as soon as Malvina shows the first sign of being ready, or botrrow an incubator next month, maybe, but I also want to have sufficient Hamburgs to make it sensible to sell eggs by the end of the next reproductive cycle.
And I need a new rooster for the EEs.

Looking for a rooster? Mostly an occasional lurker on this thread, but I noticed your post. I just so happen to have a couple of roosters that will be processed this coming week. I have two boys that are an Aruacana Faverolle cross. Gorgeous boys both rumpless. I wish I could keep them. They came from nice blue eggs and the Favs lay a tinted slightly pinkish egg. I also have a very large olive-egger cockerel from a very nice dark egg. PM me if you are at all interested. Hello, Washingtonians!

Question. What number of chickens has put you from an enjoyable hobby to a awful chore. I can see the chicken math culminating in my own life. I want this one and that one... Reality check. I have 5 now. one too old to lay I think but she will live her life out with us. As will all my pets. I live on 1 1/4 ac in the woods with neighbors who have more chickens than I and several roosters. What number was your tipping point and why. What has caused you to cull your flocks?
I'm limited by space. I'm on a half acre in the city. I don't know what my limit would be if space were not a factor. Day to day care is so easy and quick, I think coop cleaning, and composting would be my limiting factors.

Glad you decided to join in! Those boys are very beautiful. They look so much like CR's Fudge, if they were 100% Fav. I would take one in a heart beat.
For me rumples chickens are like dogs with no tail, still very very cute and great animals but it just throws me off seeing them with no tail. Kinda like, um did you leave it some where? lol But still very nice.

Are you looking for a specific variety of EE roo?  I have a friend that wants to re-home one that is super sweet.  Should I ask her if he's still available?

I'm supposed to get one of the splash roos from my cousin- I'd actually prefer to have a splash or blue Ameraucauna to put with my three silvery EE hens and a wrong-combed SSH pullet. I need to get the two red EEs gone, first, as well as that dope Ian, the first BLRW I got, whose hen just died and who's aggression was at least as much to blame as it kept me from fixing the problems with insullation in their run.

Welcome to BYC but no, sorry, I need a particular rooster, actually two particular roos: a Blue or splash Ameraucana, and a second Silver Splash Hamburg.
