Do you have any chick saver or nutri-drench?   Even sugar water - a teaspoon in an ounce or two of water - will help boost her energy level up to where she can eat and drink properly.  Do it soon - she does not look good to me.

They do have sugar in their water, that's what she drank. I do have some save-a-chick electrolytes somewhere, would that be better?

How heartbreaking!
It is so, so , sad to lose a child. My brother lost his only child, his 27 yo son from a car accident a year and a half ago. I don't know how he can go on and I cry at times thinking how hard it must be for him. You are doing the best thing for your friend - just being there to let her know you care.

I'm a little worried about one of the Cochins. Whenever I check on them, she's always sleeping, almost always alone, under the heat lamp. And when I stick my hands in there and talk to them, she continues sleeping, while the others take off running. Even when I pick her up, she opens her eyes for a second, and then goes back to sleep. She did just drink a bunch of water. I don't know when the last time she ate was, but they have medicated chick starter avalible to them at all times. The only reason I'm worried is because last time I had a chick like this, it died 5 days after I got it. Here she is, about 15 minutes ago:

I really don't want to loose her as she is the sweetest of the chicks so far, and the most people friendly, vs. Klondike and his accomplice.
When I have a chick like that i mix up some gaterade (the powdered kind) weak for the chicks. for all of them. Or get a bottle of gaterade or powerade and water it down as their water. Not sure why it helps but it seems to.

So I went out to collect eggs (forgot to yesterday) an look what I found....
400

The one on the right is a normal large egg. I feelso bad for which ever hen laid thategg on the left.

Well this afternoon I stapled some fleece over the wire front of the rabbit hutch, put in a basket, but I need to trim down the front of the basket so that it's high enough to hold in bedding but low enough for chicks to get in and out of. I'm not worried about predators and the chicks, and I'm only slightly worried about Lucy successfully keeping eggs warm enough. I'm gonna let her give it a try sitting on them out in the chicken run in the hutch. If it doesn't work out well, I'll change things up for next time I guess, but DH isn't very happy with the suggestion of bringing the hutch in the garage, so outside it will stay for now.
