Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

A good day. Went down to CR's place to visit with him and DW and met fm and friend. Had a great time, stuffed my face and finally waddled out to my car and made the trip home. Then it was a quick trip to fax some papers then to the IGA for a few items and then home. Nap time, dinner just finished and now I'm here.

Too late to call anothe BYCer but will tomorrow.

Still sore from yesterday but it's a good sore! Finally snagged some pallets that were listed in CL. Those things are hard to grab before someone beats ya to them! Hoping to use them to build goat shelters...hoping! I ended up loading the truck myself. That was fine since it was a place of business, but by the end I was wishing I had some help since I wasn't able to back the truck up very close to where they were! It was then on to check out a tiny feed store near my house where a couple are trying to start up their business out of an outbuilding on their property. The lady was super nice and when she found out I was very interested in goats she took me to show off her nigerians and mini-nubians and we talked goat for quite awhile. So it looks like I have a goat mentor nearby with connections locally!!!!
After I got home, miraculously I had enough energy to do some cleaning and shear my Cocker. She is allowed to grow out (minus her face) during the winter and was barely recognizable as a dog. Just from shearing her back and head I could make 2 more dogs!!!!

I've had 2 veeeeeerrrryyyy long days like yours- and I am a very tired mama!

I'm still on the hunt for some healthy hens or hatching eggs. If all else fails, I'll put some of ours in to hatch. I have good hens and a nice easter egger roo, I was just wanting some different chicken breeds for their different colored eggs. If anyone is not too far away and wants to trade hatching eggs, let me know. I want a couple dark egg layers, and need a white egg layer.

The in-COOL-bator is now giving a good reading, yippee! My DH worked hard on this gadget. (mostly because he's a cheapskate, but also because he loves the challenge:) I just need to put baffles in the egg turner and we're good to go! We're leaving it running to be sure that even with temperature changes to the room, it's not varying. So far, so good!

It would be nice if my DH liked doing things like that, RainMom! I can't get him to FINISH anything it seems.

Still waiting for him to finish the play set coop he started last weekend. He gets too frustrated when things aren't turning out perfect so he stops. Guess I need to become a nag!!!

Just got home from my DW's company Holiday party, yes it was after the holidays. Totally stuffed myself. And they do a "White Elephant" exchange, I got an Angry Birds game. Like you really use a catapult and shoot the birds into the block formations you have to build. Totally cool gag gift. I gots a long day of coop building if the weather stays dry tomorrow. Gonna double up on the Zyrtec to help with the outdoor allergy issue

I am so happy!! I am pretty sure I found an awesome breeder/s to get my Ameracaunas and barred rocks from now on. It's a mother/son team.... Son just won some a some award(can't remember what exactly) for his Ameracaunas :-) he's in 8th grade and showing with the adults, not just juniors or 4h.....mom breeds the br's

Make sure to ask where their BR's blood lines are from. If they are the right ones I am looking for I won't have to have eggs shipped from east coast next year.

I'm just super excited that Reber Ranch had Speckled Sussex, Black sex link, and California Whites at the same time on Mar1st! I'm going to get one of each to brood in the house :)
