I finally got my incubator temp to stabilize at 99 degrees. Should it be 100 instead? I'm having a hard time remembering. And to decrease humidity, just remove some water, right? And what is a good humidity percentage for the first 18 days?

Ahhhhh I'm so excited! My eggs arrive on Monday/Tuesday!!

I heard 99.5 is "perfect". We tried to get that, but waivered between 98 and 100, sometimes the temp went to 101 or 102 in the air, but never above 100.5 for the probe temp. Since I know my eggs were fresh and fertilized, I have a 100% hatch rate. We had humidity going between 20-45% during the first 18 days and then bumbed it up and got serious about keeping it at a minimum of 55% on days 18 and on.

I've got 4 happy new peepers today, so we must have done something right

im on my never ending hunt for Marans! Went to dels and they told me i had to order 25. So im now pondering if i want to order 25 and hope i can sell them off, or just keep watching craigslist. ALSO bought two chicks yesterday! Black australorp and a buff orpington.

what kind of Marans are you looking for?

I can't have too's anymore, BH has allergies, but it's funny she can be around chickens, but 10 minutes with a cockatoo and her eyes start looking like apricots

too's are THE DUSTIEST bird to have. Maybe that why. :\ amusing critters though <3

Hey WaLady- have you tried looking at google images online for the breed name plus word "chick" to see images of the different chicks and what they look like when they are little? That might help?

Howdy folks! Well I am really having a hard time trying to keep up right now. So have been skipping several pages at times.

Today I took 4 BCM cockerels to the sale and ended up bringing home a nice Blue Lace Brahma pullet I will try to post a pic tomorrow. She is a Greenfire bird. Look em up. the price of those babies scared the applesauce outta me! !

Not true, it is not a hoax. You can verify it easily. It was firts reported at a different lake but was corrected, but hey, believe what you will. I don't post unless I check it.

from what i could tell the first two pictures (of the gator in the water) were real. But that one of the dead gator i can't find any real news report or anything for and it honestly looks like it's photo shopped.
