Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING TO EVERYONE!!!

I plan on hatching at least one batch of babies this year.... When would be a good time to start? I'm gonna have Blondie hatch them and raise them so they will be hatched and raised outside. I didn't have any of my batches until mid to late summer last year but those were all unplanned. I plan on collecting eggs for Blondie this time and we will be giving her her own area to hatch her babies. I did successfully have chicks hatch last Nov/Dec but again, unplanned as my hens ran off to the neighbors hay barn...lol. Kept them outside in their coop with a heat lamp and they id great. Just wanted everyones opinion on when a good time is to hatch babies outside with momma

I'm going to try my darndest to go the the Monroe show, but tax season prevails, hopefully, I won't have to work that Saturday. You know you're brain dead when you're listening to Britney Spears all day at work and enjoying it! lol...

MikeyB-your wood shop sounds amazing!

Have a great day everyone!

well next week my eggs go into lock down. I'm not candling them. I have them in an egg turner. The most handling they are going to get is me moving them from the egg turner so they can safely hatch.
42 eggs, So hoping we get a good hatch. But who knows. Plus several of the eggs are so dark colored I cannot candle them.

NO, not all of the garden, but I will be building several boxes for tomatoes, herbs, bell peppers and such.
Sounds like a good plan. We have a couple now for one for asparagus, the others had carrots and some onions last year but that may change this season. I need to build a few more makes the weeding a whole lot easier with DD soccer schedule, and all the other yard stuff that time of year. On the not all part of the garden, Have Tiller Will Travel!! I have a shop with never enough tools may be we can swap labor for company while building DaBeds that way it will make haulin easier.

Here's the garden beds I made- they are at our other house- and some very nice senior citizens are enjoying them....

see the bed at the back? it's got a wood-framed screen over it, because it's got strawberries in there. I poked stakes in the corners and then set tin cans on the stakes, which gave it a nice base for the screen to sit on. After tha, the crows and robins didn't eat all my berries!
I like the beds! I had the same problem with the strawberries, but with the little birds they they got through and under everything so I made a PVC frame and hung bird netting. I hate Crows and Tucker takes care of the Robbins.
There was a sudden thunder/hail storm while we were on the lake yesterday. It was crazy and kind of awesome.

We also poked a dead frog.

That looks like a GREAT Time. Both our DD's love to explore despite the weather when they were younger. You're DD is cute playing with that frog how old is she?
If I can, being NEVER lived in Washington, post on here, surely you can still. And I think we pretty much expect it girl.
