I have not had any takers on the feed deal I listed, in fact not even any questions. I am supprised, but I guess I am just too new.
I have read somewhere that you can mix the seven with water to make a thin paint like solution, paint it on with a brush and let it dry thourly get in all the cracks and what not, his was for chicks not buns( chewers). but it might work if nothing else does.Ok. I have been using Sevin Dust, because it's safe for them, but I haven't dusted in a few weeks, maybe a month. I'll light the whole hutch on fire if I have to. It was gross! I still feel itchy and I didn't even touch them! Yuck! I put Sevin Dust on before I came back to work and within minutes they started to dispurse, but I'm not sure I can get it all over every square inch.
I am curious about the feed. I have thought about trying to mix a whole grain feed but seriously can't take on anything else right now. What is in your mix.
Nice. I would like to get some someday. Once I can have a Roo...They are smaller than most of my LF too so they don't eat as much. They have fun quirky personalities too.
Maybe she is low on calcium, grind some egg shells up in the scrambled egg you give her it can't hurt. She's about 2 y.o.. She's not in the nest box, it just took her a long time to lay the tissue paper egg that I found. My DH doesn't think she looks all that bloated, but she's lack luster. I'm going to go watch her and offer her some scrambled egg and see how she handles it. It would seem odd to me that she could be egg bound when she layed an egg two days in a row. RIGHT????? She's my favorite hen. :-(
I would greatly enjoy that! Whatever I would need to bring, I'm in! I am picking up CX chicks next weekend. Could we do it in about oh... idk 13 weeks? lol!so I have a full set of processing equipment and a wonderful coverd pad that looks out over snohomish valley. I was thinking that may be some people would like to raise small batches of meat birds. If they were started at the same time I would offer my place and expierence to have a group processing class. If everyone pitched in a little for propane and shrink bags for thier own birds I would teach/share equimpent for free. I would want at least 4 or 5 people to come out and to have at least 50 birds to make it worth it, but more would be fine.
what do ya think?

I was familiar with not using permethrin or any other flea/tick treatment, which is how I found sevin dust. I'm just not sure what the best solution is. I've checked their ears & vents, no mites or signs of mites. Its mostly up on their shoulders that they have small scabs. I just feel horrible for them. That must be terrible.TF:::::::::::::::::: It says NO permethrin on buns, and did not mention Sevin, but did mention another product

POA: move buns to all wire cages in garage. clean, disinfect with bleach & hot hot water, allow to air dry, paint with sevin dust solution, and powder thoroughly. I'll check it in a few days and hope for the best.
I wish I didn't have to do all this now, she's due anyday.![]()

You are a WEALTH of information! And definitely know how to utilize your resources. I would hate to be a guy that dates your DD!WOW this web site says Ivermectin...so I am thinking Eprinex would work fine.
Not sure of the dosage, but use the one we use for poultry which is based on weight.

Chinchillas, bunnies, same diff to me. Did you know that people mix breed chinchillas with other rabbit breeds? bizarre huh? Why would you want to change a cute little bunny or chinch to be anything but it's cuteness!?Hey TacomaFarms, I don't know how it works on bunnies, but we have a chinchilla that uses Blue Cloud Dust Bath, they have similar fur to bunnies. Maybe that kind of dust bath will keep them away?
Carolyn, I hope it's nothing serious.
YAY, Lilfarminmomma!!!![]()
