Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

LOL actually thats a very good idea... my daughter saw a show about that and looked it up. She was reading about building houses out of milk cartons, plastic bottles and glass soda bottles. She thought it would be a cool idea... as long as its painted she said lol...

You could always add food coloring to the water and have a colorful wall. I saw a picture of a fence done that way. The guy put up a chicken wire double fence about 3 feet apart and started throwing filled milk jugs into it. He said that people from all around started throwing their milk jugs in his frame and it didn't take long to fill. It gave an awesome glow, had a good wind break and added warmth. Looked odd but the cost was next to nothing.

I went to a "class" at JustBugged's house a while back. I brought 3 of my own birds for processing (culls...extra roosters) and when the time came I simply couldn't do the kill. It was OK, JB did it for me, but I did learn a valuable skill of processing the birds on my own. By the end I was taking the one's who'd been killed and processing them without help. I'm glad I went although came home queasy and feeling upset for a few days. I'm glad I know that skill now and can use it if and when needed, and I know if I'm hungry enough I could kill our own birds for a meal...just not yet.

I appreciate the way you put it Paul, whatever people are ready for is just fine for them :)

Quote: Renters aren't homeowners and are subject to the owner and the terms they have listed, so that's their fault if they have a problemo. I never understood why anyone would want to live by someone else's regulations, I thought that's why I left my parents house? I'm with you TC - no HOA for me!
There are HOAs and HOAs. Some have a few simple rules, like no cars on blocks, RVs, or boats in the front yard. These things are not good for property values. Some are draconion; no plants over 4' tall, only plants from an approved list, only shades of gray on the exterior. I've lived in the former. I wouldn't live in the latter.
Most of the time, the former becomes the latter. Especially if the builder maintains voting rights. I could give you chapter and verse of a HOA that went bad in Maryland, Baltimore Co. I would never, ever buy a property that is HOA. Why would anyone give strangers (believe me , they ain't neighbors) authority and control over YOUR PRIVATE PROPERTY. OK, I gotta shut up now, heart rate is up, not good.
My experience is the opposite. As decades pass, people forget what the rules are. I've never lived in a neighborhood where anyone cared enough to keep the HOA board active. My parents' neighborhood no longer has an board. Same was true for my Kent neighborhood, and the board in my Federal Way neighborhood is small and almost powerless because no one pays dues. There isn't enough money to pay lawyers. Granted, these are 40 - 50 year old neighborhoods.

Wow, whatta great day. Weather was outstanding by afternoon.
Finished this day off with Polish soul food. Kabalsa and sourkraut over mashed potatoes and a cup of steaming hot fresh coffee to wash it all down.

The Polish Association in Seattle does a bazaar twice a year. Went last Saturday for my pierogi and pickle soup fix.
