Not at all. I put my first hatch in yesterday. I hope I am doing the happy chicken dance soon.

WOW!!! Who forgot to turn off the fan and sprinkler? The rain and wind keep waking me up from my happy drug induced nap! Hope everyone is enjoying the day inside!

My sis left yesterday with my 2 year old niece. She was such a huge help but at the same time having a little one running around was tough too.

Went on my second big outing for the week! Yesterday I was able to see my twins last big performance of their high school cheer careers! Then the icing on the cake was all of their friends coming over to check on me and hug me! I love them kiddos! However my outing was cut short with a doctors appointment to have my bandage changed......borrrrring! Then I was so exhausted it was bedtime & med time!

Have a great day everyone! Happy hatching!!:frow

Is anyone available near me for a weekday morning meetup? I would love to have y'all over for coffee, tea, and scones!

I am dying to meet you BUT, still in the neck brace and can't drive. (and if you do it later this spring, I will bring English clotted cream to go with the scones!)

Where are you located? Maybe if we meet I could come get ya!

BIG weekend coming up. I overdid it! Over 100 chicks hatching tomorrow. I actually have the hatching tray full and had to leave a dozen eggs in a tray that are due to hatch tomorrow night! Am hoping I can pull a dozen hatchlings out to make room before the ones in the tray hatch or they drop to the front and I can pull them out.

For anyone interested, in addition to my four breeds I've got Barred Rocks, Buff Brahmas, New Hampshires, SLW's, and Spangled Russian Orloffs from other breeders around the country. Oh, and I have some very special Buff Orpingtons that should be here tomorrow. I hope to be getting some Blue Orps soon. Still looking for some nice BJGs, GLWs and Black Langshans. Should have some interesting Easter Eggers this year too. Got three Ameraucanas in the coop with all my other birds so I have no idea who the Daddy will be and I'm pretty anxious to see what my Rosecomb Barnies turn out like this year. All I need is for the RC to be there. Everything else is where it should be.

God Bless,
Where are you?

Tailfeathers is located in Granite Falls.

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to mention that Pasado's Safe Haven will have egg laying hens available for adoption. They are White Leghorns about 2 years old in good health.
I'm not interested, and realize most people here won't be interested, but there have been several posts about not getting enough eggs. This may be a good resource, if you are interested.
I don't know details of adopting from them, and I'm not going to attach a link. (It's a little too close to BYCs "No animal rights" posts) Although it is a rescue/adoption issue.
