If you look at the first pic of him, the very back corner of his beak right below that you see a little pinkish tab of flesh that will grow out to be his wattles when he is full grown. Hope this helps

YEP he's a boy :-( anyone want a hatchery RIR roo/chick? Free?.... I don't have a prob with Processing, but he was supposed to be ds chick(1 of 3), and ds is 6 and won't be ok with it.... I don't care what happens afterward, just as long as Joshua is told he's going to be someone else's pet....

I definitely see the comb... But where are you seeing wattles? I'm a noob who only physically found the crop last night so I could totally be missing it ;-) but he's only 3-4 weeks
....

At 3-4 weeks old then yes that is a cockerel.

When birds are roosting, is it normal for their tails to be up or down? I just went in the run and Laya is sitting on the roost with her tail down. Should I worry? She got down for treats.

Jessica Jessica Jessica. At the risk of sounding mean or harsh (some say I am). Take a chill pill and let them be chuckenz. I really think you might enjoy yer chookies more if ya would stop stressing over them. IF they stop eating or drinking or are T U ** then it is time to worry and take action otherwise leve em bee! That is just my opinion. But then again I am a believer of survival of the fittest ! ! !

OK help I have 20 chicks hatched out of 27 eggs... I can 3 peeping out BUT my humidity is 82% I opened the vent plug but how do I lower the humidity? Should I open the bator and take out the dry chicks that hatched more then 24 hrs ago??? Please help I dont want to drowned the other chicks....

Leave it be, the high humidity is due to wet babies hatching out !!!
