Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Quote: I don't see what isn't nice about those posts. They were simply an exchange/explanation of the word "heathen". There was no offense intended, and none in the wording that I can see, nor any personal attack on anyone.

This thread is not "ONLY" about chickens, it's about Washingtonians, and many topics are introduced. I feel, as do many others, that all sorts of topics are acceptable, as long as they are presented politely, with no flaming or hostility.

I have some really big girls who are over 3 yrs old who have a bit of trouble getting up that high. Several of my roosts are 3' off the floor of the coop. I've had birds flight 14' straight up to get 'out' before -- durn ameracaunas

I'm curious as to the answer to this question.

I see a very real potential for this to turn U G L Y ! ! ! I think I will be off for the day. Spare the WA thread.

CR, I'm right there with you!!!! The title of this thread is "Washingtonians Come Together" not "Washingtonians pick each other apart for offhand comments." I'll try back tomorrow...Maybe we'll be ready to play nice, as someone suggested, then got shot down.

Ah, come on you guys, this forum is meant for pleasant exchanges primarily about chickens and family; please don't get hung up on some off hand use of a couple words that had no offense intended. Life is just too short for this kind of disturbance. We can all "play nice" now, can't we?!

Dang squeakin' Straight!!!!

Well, one of the perpetually pregnant cows has dropped a nice big white heifer calf. In the middle of a hailstorm, of course. I went out to check her- all the way to the other side of the blackberry bushes outside the study window, fifty feet from where I sit, at most, a round trip of maybe a little over a hundred feet, and... soaked everywhere my coat didn't cover, and that coat soaked through and done for the day. And COLD, my word is it cold out there.

Typical April, in many ways, running hot and cold. I watch the large-scale weather radar and time my trips out the door for the sunbreaks, but I may end up watching a whole lot of this Mariner's game...

When have we not played nice?

I think that to truly "come together" we need to learn more about each other and how we are both the same and yet different.

Then again - some times folks think that "come together" means - "learn to think my way".
