Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

ok, so clearly I'm wittling away at those apple trees quite fervently as well as nursing the cold..

But here's my dumb point...

There's Yule..

and then there's this questionable

Pale smaller lower comb.. flatter tail. but definitely not sob tail..

Ok, I'll stop boring you now and get back to that cursed apple tree

OOOOH, Pretty pictures. Nice framing.

One more pic. This is my Chicken Chicken. She was the poor girl that I inherited with getting rid of renters. She sits in my lap at night to watch TV and loves it. My cat can be sitting in the same chair. Odd sight to see all of us on my recliner. She is going on 4 I think and tried to lay some eggs this last week but they just broke from thin shells. She has done her job, I don't care if she lays anymore. She is retired as much as a female can be retired. She still has to run things and make sure all the other chickens act right. Bossy.

she's a lovely housepet.

Hummm back looks longer and neck looks shorter. Is he low man in pecking order?

they don't get harassed at all.. which is just weird either way ya look at it.. there's 2 and they both have the same weird build and smaller comb and waddles than a rooster should. Perhaps I have 2 hermophidites out of 5 chicks??

lol That'd be something (g)

And Dave did exactly the same thing - he offered up HIS beliefs as others here have done. If this topic is going to upset people, talk of GOD, then it should be avoided by EVERYONE, not just a few who have different ideas.
As I posted before, perhaps this is a topic best take up in PM. While I am not offended by talk of God, or talk of over points of view for spirituality, perhaps this isn't the best venue for sharing that as it seems there is a sensativity about this topic.

Ok everyone.

When one person says something about his/her faith, a belief in a god, he/she is automatically denying someone else's faith if it's different from yours (unless you believe in ALL gods). So, in the interest of peace in the community, how about we ALL agree NOT to discuss god or lack thereof. It might be better to pm someone if you know they need uplifting, and you know they are religious, and you want to offer religious support. This way it won't offend others from a different faith, or no faith.

Worth a thought.
I agree. While not offened by either perspective, I didn't join this group to discuss beliefs. I came here to get support, encouragement, and knowledge about raising my laying chickens. I don't want to deny anyones right to express their views, but I'd really rather focus on the primary reason I'm in this forum......my chickens and raising them.

Thank you all for the lovely pics!! I cleaned the coop a little today and painted my vanity and towel closet in the bathroom. Horses got their pedicures and we got some fence moved and a little temp pasture made for the pony. I tried taking pics of all the chicks today, but Hermione was being quite the camera hog. I did manage to get pics of Hedwig, please let me know if you are seeing a roo, because that is the direction I am leaning toward.

Here is Hermione...

And again...

This is Hedwig, my little frizzle Cochin (I assume, due to the feathered feet) out of the assorted bantam tub. From the size of the comb however, I am thinking it may be a roo...

Here it is again with my LF Cochin, who is a pullet.

And one more from the front. Looks like he is wearing a very fluffy boa...

I also took time today to sit on the bridge to our pasture and enjoy the sunshine...

ETA: Hermione's name on the first pic

Back on the right track..I have a ga-zillion babies hatching right now////
So I go back & forth from planting in the garden, to watching & helping babies, to mowing lawns.............I am so tired !!!!!!!!

I am so jealous. Right now I have 5 not-so-baby chickens ready to go into their pen that isn't complete yet. I love the chicks and hope to let one of my hens go broody next spring with either a couple of chicks or some eggs. I don't want an incubator, so it's either buy chicks or eggs for one of my girls.

They are SO CUTE.
