Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Not an expansion, I'm thinking a new coop just for my JG with a run and a large forage compound, or just alt days of free range.
That would leave my present coop for the E Orps and their RIR buddies, which works really good for me.
Note; my broody Orp is sitting on 4 - 5 eggs so I guess I'm just going to let her go and see what she can do.
Nice maybe you'll get some cool babies!

So if my yard is constantly geting swamped when it rains, is that going to be too hard on chickens? The coop half of the chicken tractor I got free off of freecycle.org sits up on a couple of rails about six inches above ground level, and has a shallow sloped roof I'm thinking of rebuilding a bit steeper, but the pen half just sits on the ground with no floor at all.

To illustrate, here is a video from a week or two ago when I got it:
And a video of my nesting box that I have since attached (it is raining buckets this morning or I'd just go make a fresh vid for everyone.)

Thanks, guys!

Good morning Washingtonions! I Caught 3 of our week old chicks on the home made perch we introduced yesterday. Being new to this whole chicken world I expected it to take much longer. I like to think that they are some kind of chicky geniuses. Hehe. Eeither way I'm one proud mama hen!

Howwwwdeeee!!!!!! Ya do have a neighbor over there Velvettfog is in the Valley too.
Hey FYI there is a poultry show at Vancouver Saturday April 20th. There will be lots of us there. Some as exhibitors some as vendors and some just because. This is a good chance to meet some of the peeps from here. Look for Iron Imagery (the metal art guy) he can point out some of these peeps.

Wish I could make it chicken rustler! Unfortunately I'm working all weekend. And shows on the east side of the mountains I might be able to make?

Yeah I seen a few posts talking about the show this saturday. I really want to go but Cody doesn't get off work until Sunday morning. :(
Is it okay for people to just show up to the shows without rhyme or reason, just to have a look around?
Quote: Of course it's OK to come just to look. Keep in mind that Sunday morning is awards and then everybody will be loading up shortly . Normally by noonish most all is gone.

And as for cute puppy pics NO we don't like to see them !!

I am just joking about the pics . Yes it is OK I don't think anybody here minds. Most of us have shared pics of some kind in the past. And will in the future too.

And good morning again everyone! I just woke up. *yawn* Went to take the dog outside to potty and got startled by some guy digging through my recycle bin. I think he might have just been someone living in the neighborhood who is out of work.

I feel like sharing a picture of my new puppy with you guys I hope that's okay!

His name is Cricket <3

Okay back to browsing craigslist!
Yup, I am going just to check out the chickens and hang with the cool peeps from here.
