Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

My computer is giving me FITS !!!!!!!!!!!!
barnie.gif

Now, after I had to shut it off manually as it was STUCK and would not go forward or back........then log back on & defrag cuz it was all fragmented........so now I am back but who knows how long ???

I wanted to post these pics & see if anyone knows what this shrubby tree is ?
It has the prettiest berries with purpl-y red "wings"....about 8 foot tall & comes from a central clump, not having what we know of as a trunk.
Ok...what is it ?

Immature berrie/flowers in center, older berries on far right.

So above you can get a better idea of the "wings" on top of each berrie...very pretty.
This bushy tree lives in swampy boggy type soils, has no smell, has no 'sap' and has smooth leaves with no serration.

Ok, what is it ? I cannot find it in my Adubon WWA tree guide...........

Twinberry, Lonicera involuctra. It usually gets listed as a shrub, because it's multitrunked. It's a shrub honeysuckle, but not a ground-eating thug like the two I have: Lonicera fragrantissma (winterblooming) and L. amurensis, which is good if you're making a hedge around an industrial site but otherwise, no.

So, yeah, no: I do not have time to fix the hose end (and need a higher quality hose end kit for the amount of pressure it takes, anyway) so now I need to go reverse a fifty-foot hose that runs the other direction and run it through a flower bed without breaking off the heather or peonies.

SUCH a fun kind of day, and still wet as a soaked sponge.

Just because I promised...

Still haven't put the stick built boogers totally together. Took 4 adults to take apart and transport, and my husband the entire day yesterday with our son and a 'comealong' to get them maneuvered into position in our yard. The 12 newbies and my 4 prod. rirs currently occupy the A-frame. Had to move the banties out into a dog run as MySweetRoo wasn't so sweet to the only hen Black Maran, and she's in a gerbil cage on my kitchen counter in recovery and thinking that my head and shoulders are awesome spots to sit. Sigh. Anyone in driving distance want some Black Maran roosters? A couple Icelandic roosters? I made a post in the 'sale' section. Need to put together a Craigslist post at some point. Need pics where Jon's holding the boogers still.

So this year... I've been told I NEED to go to some poultry shows so I can see Heritage Rhode Islands. Other than Puyallup and my county fair (Jefferson), Anything within reasonable distance of the Peninsula?

Sorry Robin, but the comp here at work won't let me quote.

I'm not sure, but it kind of looks like an Aronia or Choke Berry.

Thank you for the education. I did indeed buy him at a feed store where he was labeled an Ameraucana, so I guess that is how I was mislead. I had Araucanas when I was growing up which I remember as being similar only they were rumpless. The Ameraucana is entirely new to me. But this is why I joined the forum. To learn new things. So again, thank you. I will now refer to him as an Easter Egger.

Hi! I'm a new member from Bothell, Wa. I recently posted an Ameraucana rooster for sale on Craigslist and have been receiving responses telling me he is a she. Now, I'm no expert, but comparing him to photos I have looked at online, he definitely looks like a he. He is just under 4 months old, he has not started crowing yet at all, but he has the thin feathers over his saddle area that make me think he is a rooster. He is absolutely gorgeous and I have fallen in love with him, so maybe someone on here can give me some good news and tell me that he is a she. Otherwise, I really need to find him a home soon before he does start to crow. He is free to a good home. I don't want him to be eaten. I will not ship him anywhere, but would gladly deliver him anywhere in Snohomish county. If anyone is interested, please let me know.
Welcome lyn and he is quite a dapper fellow!
