Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

HI All, I had been craigs listing my white midget Turkeys and a 4-H youth from Vancouver, Wa. had wanted them but we began to reason that he would be spending more in gas to come get them to make sense. ( i live north in Arlington)...Is there anyone near Vancouver, Ridgefield, Portland or within reason that may know of someone having small whites ( Midget or Belts ). I really like them but white is a baaaaad color around here....Hawks and the new Eagle population see them immediately.

I had thought that Larry Urban had some but could not find contact information for him.......

Thanks Everyone....

His name is Charles Parsons

I have to share... we bought 6 more chickens. They are 2 months old. Now we have 12 total. If anyone has any tips for these breeds - send it my way. We have a Cochin already, but I'm new to the other breeds.

Buckeye - Susie

Dark Brahma - Clara

Golden Sex Link - Indie

Blue Laced Red Wyandotte Bantam - Amelia

Blue Cochin - Ella

Partridge Cochin - Sandy

I'm sad to say, it's time for my non-laying EE hen to leave. I haven't found the inner stamina to deliver her to freezer camp myself. But if anyone here wants a bird for their stock pot (or yard decoration since she no longer lays) ... please PM me. Otherwise I'll take her to DS on Sunday and he will usher her out for me.

I'm in Kitsap.

You've been baking??? Tell me more....
I went on a bit of a bread binge when the temps were down. I did spent grain, cheddar, buttermilk lavender, and rosemary. I just LOVE this stuff! I've been doing half of each batch as dinner rolls, it sure makes having a little bit with dinner a lot easier.

p.s. Think of you every time I watch my Barnie girl. Do you think you'll get this breed again?
May do Barnies again. They are nice looking birds and friendly. Just got too may right now (not numbers - breeds). And only done a bit of baking before the vacation. It was a wonderful time!
Looking for some input from other poultry people, trying to narrow down breeds again, trying to decide between keeping my Campines or my Dorkings, any thoughts? I only have pairs of each to start, quality is good on both, maybe a slight edge to the Dorkings. Just kind of want to go down to one breed that needs a lot of work to compliment my main breed.

Well, if you keep the Dorkings we could trade lines since I have some!

The big kids- unnamed as yet, I'll have to think about it for a while. There's a Splash Quail cockerel in front and a Blue Quail pullet in the very back that I'm keeping, and a silver Quail pair (pullet to the left, cockerel to the right) which I really shouldn't...

And the teenies, or some of them: Cheery absolutely doesn't trust the camera around her babies. Week old today.
