Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

PLEASE NOTE: This is a rotten, rotten product. DO NOT BUY.

I am too tired to tell you all the ways in which it is totally horrible right now.
I don't even bother looking at the stuff online. I think most of the stuff is over priced and do not last. I just had a friend come by today and he made ups a beautiful rabbit hutch. He also made a small hen house for me to use when I pick up my silkies next week. I just need my hubby to build a small run. We have a ton of chicken wire and other wire we can use. When you think about it, you pay for these kits and you still have to put them together. I rather have someone build something that will last. Later today I'll go get a couple of pics and show ya his work. He's actually going to build us a couple coops as well so we can separate the breeds we have.

Lovely that you're young and healthy and have a young, healthy husband who was raised to use tools; I hope you appreciate your good fortune!

Unfortunately things are very different at my house, and the tiny amount of strength I have to put into building things got taken away by being injured last Sunday, and my daughter is getting married Saturday, so I'm not in a position where I have much of anything except bad choices.

My husband is really learning how to make stuff. The heavier work we had a friend do. I am actualy not all healthy. I have a damanged back from being in a car accident when I was 18 in the Navy. Slipped disk, degenerative with tares in the low back. I get pain that shoots down my left low back to my left knee. I have been dealing with this sense 2007. I still bst down and lift heavy things and do what I can but I pay for it later on. Sorry to hear you are hurt as well and grats on your daughter getting married. :)

Small chicken house our friend made.
Our first section rabbit hutch.
So, more pics of this, right? We're considering adding rabbit hutches to the parts of the chicken coop that aren't chicken reachable, with runs for the rabbits that lead outside the coop... this looks intriguing! And you are in Quilcene? We're in Hadlock... PM me if you head up this way :) Beach picnic and shop talk!

Looking for colorful eggs!!!!!
My 6 year old daughter is doing an informational poster for a 4H project about different colored and sized eggs. She is planning to seal and then mount actual eggs to her poster. We have lots of different sizes but we lack color. WE are looking for blue, green, pink, dark brown, speckled etc.

If you live in the woodinville/monroe/Snohomish area and would be willing to contribute some colorful eggs for a 4H kiddo please contact me. Thank you!!!!!

I hope she's not sealing intact eggs (blow them first). If they go bad they can explode and create a nasty, stinky mess. I hope you can find the eggs you want; we aren't close and none of mine are laying yet, although I thin I heard a very feeble crow this morning!

Yes indeed, my little Dorking crowed!

It was pretty feeble though. The first one I thought was some strange bird, but when I went outside and heard it again, I was sure. I know he'll do better as he practices, but it really is funny to hear him now. He has two others with him, one is a girl and one I'm not sure about yet.

The rest are just two weeks old today and tomorrow. Wow are they growing. Some have tails already, and one Marans has the strangest markings. It looks like barring to me, but I didn't think CL had any cuckoos?!?!? There are 14 so I'm hoping to have an even split of pullets to cockerels. Just got to be patient; and the coffee doesn't help

I'mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm BACK!!!!

Holy Moley Batman, whatta trip!
Me and #1 son limited out on the fishing trip.
Was a 1st for me being out on the Pacific. 28 miles out, sun finally burned off the haze and it was a beautiful day out of Westport, Wa.
Crossing the "bar" was an experience. 14 fishers on the boat (mostly one family) and everyone was great and got along very well, share food, drinks and commiserated with the ones that got sick.
Yes, I got sea sick, never have I ever done that, but it happened.

It was an experience. (I'll never, ever tease another bout it again. I promise) maybe.

10 sea bass for each of us (about 4lb avg) for a total of 20 fish which were fileted so I now have 40 filets, yumm, yumm.
My big concern was that I could take the physical stress. Turned out it was a piece of cake except for my hands but the cramps that began to occur in my hands when we got back finally eased up in the evening.

My gals blessed me with 12 extra large eggs while I was gone. whoot

No, I'm not going back, just going to cross it off my bucket list.
PS; it's a lot cheaper to buy fresh fish then do this. It's not just for the fish though, it's for the experience and meeting new people on very common ground (hmm, sea)

Hi there. I'm looking for some friendly egg layers. Hopefully a couple different breeds and different colored eggs. My run will be ready in September (gotta wait for my military husband to be home long enough to finish it) and they'll need to get along somewhat with my exotic duck as the ducks will occasionally join then in the run. So I'm looking for advice, recommendations, and people in wa (I'm on Whidbey Island, but I'll drive a good distance to pick up the right chickens) looking to sell. I'm looking for females only to start.
