I will by summer but right now my breeding stock is too young. I made the mistake of buying from a line that had a high cull rate and I got sub par genetics so I am now starting over with Greefire lines.

Darn. I was hoping to get some now so I can have eggs by summer. I always like to buy from local breeders when I can.

Who knew how many local people would be wanting to buy chicks during the winter?!?! There are all sorts of folks wanting to buy my cockerels and pullets, and I still need to save some for myself. LOL If I would have known there was such a demand, I would have stuck some more eggs in the incubator. Does anyone else have chicks this time of year?

I have 6 week old partridge silkies. I tried to sell them 6 weeks ago and only one person bought some.

On a different note, my wife went to farmland in silverdale the other day to restock on crumble, and they told her they are switching hatceries this year. We can special order our golden cuckoo marans and olive egger from them : o We shall see if this is true come February.

I like your coop. Could you tell me how you attached the shingles? We plan on doing ours that way (right now it's just painted plywood), but don't want a million little nails sticking out on the inside of the coop.
