Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

Question...opinions please.
My Rhode island red has decided she doesn't like me near her at night time and has started pecking whatever body part is closest to her. She doesn't do any of this during the day and is normally easy to handle and friendly.
Is she doing this because she is roosting and wants some quiet or is she being a 'B'?

My birds don't like touched at night. It's probably because they can't see and don't know what is getting them. I do all my checks at night so even Duke who is sweet will freak out and start crowing until I talk to him and rub his chest.

I always talk softly to them when I have handle them in the dark, just to let them know "it's just me".  It seems to help calm them a bit.

Thank you for the input. Makes sense. I was worried because I didn't want to have to give her up(eat) because she was cranky. She is a great bird during the day!
Read a post once and someone had a mean bird, very heated and interesting responses.

I've been using Scratch n Peck brand feeds for all my girls' life stages and was becoming increasingly frustrated with all the powder leftover. Quick search on here showed I wasn't the only one.

Apparently that powder is a very important vitamin & mineral mix. My girls are laying like crazy and seem chunky and healthy, but general consensus was that it's best served moistened or better yet, fermented. So I fermented some...

After waking up to a huge mess in the kitchen (I THOUGHT my containers were big enough) I shuffled some bowls out to the ladies. They LOVED it! It was a bit like a toddler eating spaghetti unassisted for the first time, but they were practically licking the bowls clean!

Guess I need to put away the awesome no waste bucket feeder I made.

I also use scratch and peck. I take the powdery stuff that gets left in the feeder and mix it with plain yogurt. The girls love it!

BTW -- I had my first four-egg day from my five six-month-old girls!

Ooh good idea to mix it with yogurt!
It just takes mine a while to get down to the powder and it worries me they aren't getting the vitamin/minerals they may need until that point.
They had finally reached the bottom of the no-waste bucket and it was just several inches of the powder. Not thinking I just dumped another 20# bag in and tried to mix it together.

Congrats on the 4 egg day!!!!
