Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

So I scrapped my initial building plan ideas and found someone who builds chicken tractors here locally! I priced out everything I needed to make a hoop style coop/run (abouts $200) and this was up for $250 so I just grabbed it! The one I have already built I'll try to sell cheap or will keep as a spare, in case someone gets sick or needs separated... or in case I stumble on some silkie bantams that will fit better in there

I wanted a tractor from the get-go but just don't have the tools and skills, so this works out perfectly! I'll tweak it a bit to reinforce, I still have about 20' of hardware cloth I can use to staple around it and make a skirt. This will give the girls lots o space!

…..

Tell us More what you enjoy about poultry. I guess mostly what would YOU like..…in general, eggs, meat, personality, variety, feathers/crafts or….. There are alot of folks not far from You…..and in the fall the Washington Feather Fancy has its winter brisk at the Chehalis Fairgrounds…You can also checkout its website for other shows coming up that can help You find breeders of some very beautiful poultry.
Thanks so much elizmartin for the info! We're still figuring things out with the pen and perhaps the coop. Ways to stretch your dollar. Claire had her heart set on Rhode Island Reds but might budge a bit. We'll see.

Yep, I know since we put bantams on the left side thingamajiggy. Thanks Robin! There are numerous breeds we are considering but it depends on what's available in pullets when we are finally ready. Claire is designing a coop as we speak so I think she might be reconsidering the prefab thing. We've gone back and forth. I guess I'll call Rural King tomorrow and find out what the heck is going on. Hope you two and your chickens are having a nice sunny Sunday. It looks like thunderclouds are coming in. 50/50 chance I guess.
