Washingtonians Come Together! Washington Peeps

We have a few as well. Last year, in our cedar tree, too high up to reach them, but I don't see them up there this year. This year, they're reachable at the shoulder level, and like you, thought the chickens would just LOVE them! They turned their nose up at them and looked at like we were crazy.

I've heard that WA is having real issues with them and they will decimate a forest (although not always permanently). Just kill all the leaves on the trees for that year. Still, I say burn 'em!!

Yes I've heard they're going to be a big problem as well. They sure stripped my rose bush fast. I found the nest and it rained so I couldn't spray.., next day my rose bush has zero foliage! I wish we could just clip and burn, we live in a residential area so we're not supposed to. Next year we'll have a fire pit tho and all bets are off! Haha

comfreys blooming :)

Ambergem, since you have quite the green thumb can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? My comfrey was gorgeous and then it got white spots on the leaves towards the bottom that soon traveled up to the top of the plant and now all the leaves have it. It is suffering and has yellowing leaves toward the bottom. I realized I forgot to put a drainage hole in the bottom of the pot, could this be the problem or just a contributing factor? It also seems to need regular watering. Sorry, I don't know much about gardening and I really want this to do well and hopefully I haven't killed it!

Shape and size of white spots make a difference, yellow leaves usually means lack of nitrogen. A lot of plants don't like to swim, it could be a factor, if it's a plastic pot you don't have to take it out of the pot to drill holes in the bottom. If you re-plant it somewhere put fertilizer in the hole you plant it in!

Oil painting I did, then I disliked it, so I sanded it down, then I painted more on it, now I like it more every day, and the exact opposite of my usual super-detailed water color Hard to show detail, but it is very rough & 'globby'......I love the texture of oil paintings...and I usually end up going crazy making abstract globby paintings such as this. The water colors are exact opposite. Weird, huh ?
I like globby paintings, I'm not confident enough to make them, my chicken painting is rather flat ;0 Oils are also cool and daunting both! I feel like I need a class before I try them?

Been having a problem with black vine weevils around the potted plants and such around my house. They haven't gotten to the garden yet but I've been trying to keep them in check by doing nightly hunts and using nematodes. Last night I gathered about 30 in the span of an hour, then fed them to Sweet Pea, the others turned their noses up! Oh well ;)

All the rest of the babies hatched now- considering we had a really good hatch with very little loss except my mothers BBS Bantams who took the hardest hit in the very beginning went from 23 to 9 actual hatching but I'm think they weren't fertile to begin with who knows.

We've got home a home for some Lavenders tomorrow and boy are they cute. Ok they all are with their little full diaper looks hahahaha.

bantams zooming around in warp speed lol

my showgirl roo is locked in one of these since he is being a jerk! Unfortunately my large fowl hens roost on top and poo on him!
That's the insult he gets for being called a "show girl roo" which is in itself an insult to the cockerel chicken...poor guy, imagine ! Then the womwn's poo on ya !
